I received my semi-annual shipment of sausages from Usinger's this afternoon. I'm bringing six pounds of onion brats and beef franks to work tomorrow for grilling purposes. I'm not sharing the knackwurst.

I also get Usinger's twice a year. I order the natural casing Angus beef franks (8 to a lb) and their summer sausage. Bratwurst also, and sometimes the veal franks.

John, have you tried the knackwurst? It's one of my favorites. I'm also partial to the smoked liverwurst. Except for things like yachtwurst and head cheese, I've never tried any of their products that I didn't find to be first rate.
Bobs, I'm only feeding employees this time. You applying? I'm looking for help.

Has anyone tried the blood sausage yet? Been debating for awhile now to order some from them..

              Pete,

Haven't tried the knackwurst, but I'll order it next time.

Usingers has an onion knackwurst that might be my stranded on an island choice. They also have a double smoked liverwurst called something like Hessische (sp?) Liverwurst that seems like a fine paté.
They make my favorite Mortadella. Winters are tough sometimes in Milwaukee but it has its many perks. The Spice House directly across the street has truly great reasonably priced spices for sale making this a monthly destination. Roadfooders might enjoy checking out their spice varieties http://www.thespicehouse.com/info/home.php http://www.usinger.com/
