cecif - Buffetbuster somehow living in cecif's body....I am a little surprised this statement hasn't drawn more attention! While we haven't formally met, I have seen trip report photos and there is no way, with your beauty and petiteness, that any of buffetbuster is getting inside your body! It could create a whole new world order! Sorry you got TM'd, but it looks like it really opened the door to another great stop! The half moons look intriguing...are they filled or more of cookie like a black & white? The pie look absolutely delicious! For the record...Freebird!

Hey CTD, I saw your post and thought I'd reply. The Half Moons aren't filled and are similar to the Black & White cookie. There are two main differences though. Most Half Moons are chocolate cookies as opposed to yellow cake cookies (however, they come in both varieties). The chocolate ones are closer in texture to a brownie instead of a cookie (see pic below). The Black & White has a hard icing on it and the Half Moon is a whipped frosting that is still soft when you bite into the cookie. Most bakeries and grocery stores in CNY carry the Half Moons.

CTD I am a bit surprised too - at the time I wasn't sure how to put it... it was actually almost an "out of body" experience, maybe I should have said I was suddenly "channeling" Buffetbuster?! (But then maybe that's only for folks who are no longer with us...?!) Regardless, you did get the idea! And many thanks for the compliment too! I wonder if Carleton actually knows Freebird?! Good one. (Reminds me of my favorite use of it in a movie - have you seen Elizabethtown ?? BB/CTD, I have actually not tried the chocolate version of a Half Moon - I prefer the white cakey version... but maybe on my way home I will try!
