lonestar got me thinking of the rather pitiful excuses for "specials" that i've witnessed vegetarian friend sendure over the years at even the best road food places , and i'm going back to when Rip Griffin's was just a small chain of truckstops in west texas . does anyone have any memorable experiences along these lines ? by the way , the reigning champion of worst is a rather famous "regional cuissine" landmark , at the foot of a certain street , in a certain famous west coast city ........... the vegetarian offering at a state farmer's market conference dinner was a plate of overdone carrots , plain steamed spinach , and a yellow flesh potato ; that's IT !!! ( oh , they did have good bread ) don't get me started
