I've always got two slices of cheese on a triple at Wendy's, no matter where I have been at.... But, I haven't had a triple from Wendy's in over a year so maybe things are changing...

The first time I ever had a Wendy's triple was in 1971. It was also the last time.

Michael, Must not have been that impressed, huh? And in the early 70's, I have always been told was the strongest years of quality for the chain.

No, no, no. Three patties and three slices of cheese in a triple -- that's a common misconception. Wendy's named it the "Triple" after the MEDICAL PROCEDURE, not after the configuration of the sandwich. It's short for triple bypass. You know, "Order a Wendy's Triple Bypass Happy Meal, and get a FREE BALLOON (angioplasty)!"

The Double w/cheese I usually get comes with 2 slices, I don't get the triple because due to an accident my mouth doesn't open far enough

I don't get the triple because I'm afraid my aorta won't open wide enough.

It was in early September, 1971, and it came from the original Wendy's on East Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio. I'd never heard of Wendy's and someone was going out to grab lunch and asked if anyone wanted something. I asked what they had and was told, so I ordered the triple. I was so impressed that I haven't eaten anything from Wendy's since.

If you think a Classic Triple with Cheese from Wendy's is bad, try a Monster Thickburger from Hardees. The Triple from Wendy's has 59 grams of fat verses 107 whopping grams of fat for the Monster.

i would agree on the fast food "cheese". Its basically oil and water with coloring. Now the cheese on a In-Out Burger or Fatburger or most burgers at decent independent restaurants is a different story.

should be in FFF. but, when I go to Wendy's I get $1 potato, $1 chili and pour the chili in the potato with the hot sauce. Not too bad for $2 plus diet coke. the triple burger just looks too big and honestly, there are better foods I'd rather get 1000+ calories from.
