Ie been on the websites before read pretty much all of them but X1 yours looks fabulous and since I don't really care for bread that much I'd really like to have a recipe for this. Thanks in advance. X1, sadly we have not been able to dig into the muffaletta salad yet. We have been slowly working our way through eggplant roulettes, stuffed peppers, and pepper shooters from Tenuta's, empanadas, and a variety of sweets from Mekato Columbian Bakery, buckets of leftovers from Thai BBQ, and more Kringles than we know what to do with from every bakery in Racine. We've made serious headway through the above mentioned and the muffaletta salad is next up, I promise. Forgive us, we're exhausted from eating so much this weekend. Buddy

HAHAHAHA! That's OK - it'll last a few more days. Just stir it around every once in a while, and make sure everything's coated with the oil/vinegar.

I brought the blueberry kringle from O&H to my office. "Pack of starving, rabid wolves devouring a lamb" doesn't even begin to describe the scene....

ann, the eggplant was outstanding; wish I'd bought a few more. The shooters were good but I've had better. The peppers were a bit tough and the prosciutto/provolone filling was lacking in quantity. I still ate them very happily, but there were better items at Tenuta's that day. The stuffed peppers, on the other hand were really good. The peppers themselves were done perfectly; none of the bitterness you usually get with a green bell pepper, and the texture was wonderful, almost creamy. The sweetness of the tomato sauce was a perfect balance to the pepper and the ground beef filling. As for the kringles, I'm having a hard time finding a bad one. For me, arguing about which one was the best is pointless. Pecan from O&H, pineapple pecan from Bendtsen's, and raspberry from Larsen's. They're all fantastic, rich, buttery, moist and sweet. Why must we argue about which one is best? Can't we all just get along? Buddy

^^My parents chose the almond from O&H as their best, but my mother said the same thing you did, "they are all good, we will eat whatever." Sadly, I forgot to ask & sure enough the turtle kringle I got had walnuts instead of pecans. My mother is deathly allergic to walnuts, so my stepdad took that one to work today. I have not yet tried the salad, am going to have it for lunch tomorrow, it looks delectable!

After having read many of the opinions on the Kringles, I will back off on my O&H stance and do a round robin next time I am in Racine and try all 3 places..happily!!

X1, Finally dug into the muffaletta salad today. Absolutely delicious! I couldn't help thinking though how much better it would be if you stuck it between two slices of crusty bread... Just kidding of course. Thanks so much for that tasty stuff. Buddy
