No Mekato parking lot. I'll check but it's possible that some of the kringle shops may not be open in the afternoon. If we have some Brewer game goers, they might then have a long time to wait after the game which I imagine should be over by 4, 4:30. I'd allot an hour max for lunch, an hour and a half at Tenuta's, an hour and half kringling and travel time, getting to Milwaukee by 4:30, 5 at the latest.
Edited kringle news-
The only kringle place that matters (imho) O & H Bakery, is open 5am-5pm Sat.

Some like Larsen's

There are some that favor Bendtsen

Lehmann's has its fans too.

Now before diabetes took me out of the kringle loop, I've tasted them all. Mrs MFL parents lived in Racine and at one time or another they all were sampled sometimes in a group setting like we are going to have, O & H took top honors but not for every flavor. I'll drive to whatever one you want but O & H..........................mmmmm.
I have a co-worker that used to live in the area and she says that Wells Brothers has the best pizza she's ever had (very thin crust) and to make it Roadfood worthy it comes complete with a bad neighborhood! Angelo's allegedly is very close.
That said, I'd like to state that the walk from Mekato's to Thai BBQ consists of crossing the street and ambling a half a block. No need for shivs or zip guns as the neighborhood is threadbare but not dangerous. You might see a wino taking a leak but you won't be asked for spare change, your wallet or your purse. There is a nearby restaurant, Asia Palace, that has long tables (and plenty of them), an in-house bakery that makes great french-style baguettes, and some very good food and even serves bubble tea (if you've had it, you probably are in love with it) but I've
never ordered a meal without something messed up (language issue) and I've never been able to just pay the bill when I was done eating. The place would be best for our group meeting-wise but I just know the service will be frustrating. Thai BBQ is still worth any minor hassles. I say let's just plan on 5:30 and we can all scramble to make it at that exact time. We
do need a final headcount though. I haven't heard from our baseball group recently. Are you guys still in for dinner?
