I personally think Wawa is great. I really enjoy their subs, iced tea, salads and many other of their offerings. It is on the top 5 things that I miss most about NJ. I have eaten many a meal there and am in there quite often when we are back in NJ. We must have been in Wawa 3 or 4 times last weekend when we were home to see the Flyers clinch a playoff berth. Enjoyed some tasty subs during the 6+ hour car ride home. Wawa beats any fast food joint IMHO. A gentleman on another board that I frequent tried to tell me that Wawa is no different than 7-11 or Cumberland Farms - I don't think so!

Wawa is nothing like 7-11 or Cumby's -- not even close. Most Wawas that we've visited make their own sandwiches to order. Amy's sister spent a summer outside of Pittsburgh, and she still talks about how much she misses Wawa. I'll drive out of my way to enjoy their incredibly wide selection of snacks and drinks! Chris

I'm not familar with Cumberland Farms, but Wawa is way better than 7-11. I would say 7-11 is the worst, along with Highs, of the convienience stores in Maryland. Wawa has an in-store deli. 7-11 only offers pre-packed sandwiches, and most of those sandwiches are short and meat and long on stale bread.

I LOVE WaWa, and now that I no longer live in SoJersey, I really miss it. Yes, they make great sandwiches. Yes, the stores that I have been in are clean (including the restrooms). But I think the main reason I miss WaWa is because I associate it with trips to the beach. When we lived in Galloway Township, we'd stop at the WaWa in Smithville or Brigantine and get sandwiches to take to the beach. Now that we are "shoobies," we hit the WaWa in Ocean City when we're there for vacation. I actually get excited when I see a WaWa, for it means that good things await!! PS Royal Farms, in this area of MD is not a bad substitute...good fried chicken...but no happy beach associations!!

WaWa and Sheetz's are similar but I prefer WAWA. They are the best convenience store I have ever encountered. I wish we had them in TN. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

My wife picks up food at the one just outside the Richmond, VA airport because it is so much better that anything in the airport, not to mention on the plane. Plus she can fillup the rental car at the same time.

Wawa is fantastic and gets better all the time. I couldn't live without it, especially on the way to work if I haven't made coffee or grabbed a bagel from the freezer. Or to run over there at lunchtime? They are FAST; I can get there and back in 15 minutes, and still have a half hour to eat and read the paper and BS with the girls. I take a 45 minute lunch, and without Wawa, I just don't know. Salads, hot lunches, hot dogs...they have anything you'd want, and I haven't been in a Wawa yet where they're mean. They're part of the landscape here in South Jersey. You can also fill up the car there now, but I don't always go there (I almost said, "You can get gas there!" Ha.).

As a general rule, the gas at Wawa, along with Sheets and Royal Farm is, relatively, cheap. I always find 7-11 gas to be on the high side. Then again, in this time of $3.50 gas, I no longer know what is cheap.

I like Wawa but for is no more then a convience store. I run into one near work for a quick lunch pick up, but given time I would never choose to go to a Wawa for a sub, especially where great Subs are available most everywhere. I laugh when people say they go there for the Subs and a good Pizza/Sub place is around the cornor with fresher meats, larger sandwiches and better prices. As far as running in for bread, milk and a newspaper, Wawa is what it is, nothing more. If it's clean and well stocked what more would you expect. The kids like it after a Baseball game for slushies.

The new WaWa's no way resemble their old ones. They are upgrading them constantly. They have their act together. They have fresh everything. I really like their product and I wish we had them in Knoxville,. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

I travel all over this country. I have found WaWa to be one of the best, if not the best, convenience store chains in this country. The coffee is far better than the average convenience store, the sandwiches are the best around, and where else can you buy a individual piece of fresh fruit or a Philly-style soft pretzel?

I agree with those who have said Wawa is just a convenience store. I'd much rather go to a diner/deli/bagel shop for a fresh breakfast sandwich than the ones from wawa that sit out by the registers. Their sandwiches are Subway quality, and the whole computer ordering thing bothers me, I've gotten sandwiches fom them and the person behind the counter didn't say 2 words to me, they just made the sandwich and handed it to me. Dearfolk, Shows you what I know... until just now, I had thought that Wawa was a city in western Ontario, about 45 km or so north of Sault Ste. Marie. Waway Off The Mark, Ort. Carlton in Wawa-deficient Athens, Georgia. P. S. The last time I looked, radio station WAWA was in West Allis, Wisconsin. P. P. S. I went to high school with a fellow named Mike Emily who was stationed in the military in Alaska and came back to Athens with his wife, an Inuit woman named Wawa. "It WARM down here!" she offered one blustery February afternoon.

In NJ Wawa is a place to be and meet people late on weekends. They make good food 2. 10 steps above 7-11.

Dave Dave, I've gotta tell ya - around my way, in the morning on a weekday (Wawas in the Voorhees and Marlton area), those Sizzlis do not have the chance to sit around when I go in there in the morning. I have never seen anything move so fast, besides those coffee pots. All you see is hands grabbing and hands putting more out. To be honest, though, I can't eat the breakfast sandwiches anymore; they've started killing my stomach!

When comparing the Sheetz I've been to with the WaWa's I've been to, I prefer Sheetz. Cleaner, more food and drink choices, and better food.

It was told to me that WaWa was closing their old stores and opening up new ones that are like the huge convenience stores that are their new model. They are very nice. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

I love Wawa. When I'm passing through southeastern Pa, I like to stop there for a real Hoagie.
