Still a few Ihops in your area: http://ihop.know-where.com/ihop/cgi/selection?map.x=293&map.y=76&mapid=US&place=®ion= As for email, they have a toll free #.. Start rattling them on a daily basis! ha ha.. Oh well.. Figured in Detroit that they'd have something better then a chain available (not to mention better quality food).. Good Luck on your venture there! UncleVic from the other side of the state..

If a Waffle House opened in my back yard i still wouldn't go there. I've eaten at WH three times in my life and have never been impressed. Their waffles are small and basically, just suck. Small portions of the cheapest quality food on everything else. I will walk across the street to Dunton House for a real "Greek" breakfast for about the same $. Waffle House wouldn't survive in the Chicago area.

I don't know how many times you'll have to be told, but there won't ever be a Waffle House in Michigan unless someone puts up several hundred thousand dollars to become a fanchisee. But, why ask here? Why not ask Waffle House? http://www.wafflehouse.com/

I've been eating at Waffle House restaurants since the early 1970s and I think they're great. I can't help wondering, though, about your complaint concerning their waffles. Small? They are the same size as any other waffle I've ever seen anywhere -- unless, of course, you're thinking in terms of so-called Belgian waffles, which were introduced in the United States at the 1964 New York World's Fair. I'd never consider eating one of those monstrosities. I prefer an American waffle. As to the quality of the food, I can't imagine where you came up with that sort of thing. I've always found their food to be of very high quality.

You people in Chicago and New York and LA need to be introduced to some real food.

Yeah -- it's amazing we have all been able to survive lo these many years without the blight of another cookie cutter chain. We denizens of these cities (and yes, once a NYer, always a NYer) are probably a little more adventurous when it comes to food (yes, that is a serious overgeneralization), and don't need to know what is on the menu, how things will taste, and what the layout of the restaurant is before we walk in the door. But...if you do, enjoy. Steve

Introduce us to some real food (she said with more than a hint of sarcasm in her fingertips). Dude...talk about overgeneralization. Just love when a poster comes in and makes statements of that sort about the entire population of a large metropolitan area.

I LOVE the pecan waffles at W.H.! I don't think you can find friendlier service either. Whenever we travel south, we know where we will be eating breakfast. I think you have to go with an open mind. You won't find red flannel hash, but that is okay, too. I think that traveling and eating different things are part of the experience. If you don't want anything different, then stay at home.

I've never had a waffle at Waffle House (the mrs. loves them though)but when you can get a superfluffy 3 egg omolet with sausage and cheese, hash browns, covered, topped, chopped, smothered, covered etc, a side of bacon, a bowl of grits, toast, cherry coke and an endless cuppa for around 10 bucks ay ANY time of the day and watch it all being made... well, it sure works for me!!
