Waffle House

How great is it when you are driving down the highway and see one of those places to eat signs and see WAFFLE HOUSE.You almost can not fight the erge to pull over, even if you are not hungry.

As someone who detests WAFFLE HOUSE, I cannot share in your excitement.

I very much enjoy Waffle House, but it would never occur to me to pull in if I'm not hungry. That's sort of like stopping in an emergency room even though you feel fine just because you happen to like that emergency room.

I grew up with Waffle Houses nearby, but am partial to the Southern rip-off: Huddle House. The menu seems to offer more choices and the food is slightly better, in my opinion.

I've eaten in Huddle House restaurants and you are right about the menu offering more choices. I don't agree that the food is slightly better. As far as I can tell they're just about the same in quality -- and I like them. I think that if I lived in an area where there were both Waffle House and Huddle House restaurants I'd end up at the one where I felt most comfortable, and that would relate to the staffs.

Damn it people! Do you realize how far I would have to drive from Minnesota to find a Waffle House? Now cut it out! It is too cold today for me to hop in my RV and head out to try a Waffle House for the first time to engage in this discussion.

Waffle sandwich. Although it sounds pretty good, I do not recall seeing it on the menu.

The waffle sandwich is a ham sandwich that they put in a waffle iron to cook.

While I like both Waffle House and Huddle House, I agree that Huddle food is generally better.  My compliment does not apply to Huddle coffee, which is rank.

My granddaughter would die of happiness if she ever saw this on a street near us!  Believe me; we would have to stop.

If there were tables around I'd really give it a go.

I like to sit "like a real person" when eating.

I don't know where that saying came from but my mother used to say it.

She taught me well.  That and I'd hate to get syrup on my fingers.

I would run away from home if I saw one coming down the street.  MH would probably run out in his jammies to get his three scrambled and hash browns scattered, smothered and peppered.  That's just scary.

I must ask.......................................Have you ever gone in with an open mind and eaten at a Waffle House and enjoyed it for the experience that it was?

Oh sure.  I've been there.  I just don't like breakfast food and don't eat in the morning.  I like their hash browns, scattered and peppered.  I thought their country ham was pretty good until I had it at the Loveless in Nashville.  Oh, their jalapeno cheddar biscuit is not bad, either.

If the driver knew where you lived, he'd probably park it in front of your house, jack it up, put blocks under it, take off the wheels and say, "Thank You Jesus! I've found the promised land!"

My wife is the big breakfast eater in our family and adores Waffle House. Only time we ever eat there is on a road trip. It's a treat for my wife and payback of sorts for me dragging her to all the various "brew-pubs" that I like to visit......

Pretty truck & very nice gesture on the part of Waffle House as the truck will be used to support disaster relief efforts.
