Walters Westchester

This is definitely one to avoid. Must have been a bad day because I threw up after I ate just 2 of these.

Good luck trying to get people to avoid a local institution. I go there twice a month and have never gotten even remotely sick. My kids have ate there numerous times and they never got sick either. Maybe it was something you had for breakfast that day?

I'm skeptical of this post, too. My husband grew up in Westchester County, and Walter's is, indeed, an institution.

We live out of state, but on family visits, this is a must-stop for us. The mustard is terrific. It's a great experience.

And no one we know has ever become ill after eating at Walter's.

I thought I was making sense, but if you need further clarification: I was skeptical of your account. Like Russ, I noticed that most of your initial posts to this site are negative. We've had trouble in the past with trolls who post negative comments just to provoke a response.

In your case, it may be that you are accurately reporting what happened to you, but it is at variance with most people's experience with Walter's.

Isn't it funny that a guy with 5 total posts has
trouble with a place that has never been blasted before.
I would think that Mr Richard A O should be checked out by
the Roadfood Police. He ordered 4 dogs at Rutt's ---that's a
lot of dogs for one Richard, and then he goes all the way to
Mamaroneck for his next meal....that's a lot of miles and tolls for
    one Richard.

I have eaten at Walter's for beau coup years and have never had, or
heard, a complaint except the time waiting in line.

Me thinks Mr Richard is pulling our leg. Me thinks Mr Richard
has an ax to grind. I wonder what he is up to.

The game is afoot, Watson !!!!!!!!!!!!1

Britt --on Palmer Ave in Mamaroneck which is just a few short miles little ways out of the Bronx, NY
you will find Walter's. You will notice it on your left because it is a strange looking hot dog stand. It is Chinese Pagoda in architecture. You will always find a line working their way
toward the dogs. It is an old and good Roadfood Joint.

Sir Richard of the queezie stomach may be opening up a hot dog stand up the street, who knows???

Listen I understand a lot of people love those Hot Dogs at Walters and I didn't want to offend anyone but I thought this forum was for people to voice there own personal experiences and opinions. I didn't think this was anything wrong with this since I love to try different places and foods. I travel a lot for work and have tried tons of place from Pinks in LA to Tony Packos in Ohio some I like some I don't simple as that. Personally I like them crunchy so I'll take 2 dogs and a smoothie from Grays Papaya on 72nd and Broadway. Maybe because it was my staple for daily college nutrition in the day. As for Rutts Hutt I had my daughter with me thus the extra dogs. No conspiracy theory Ancient Mariner or should I call you Oliver Stone

Richard, Walter's uses a pork, beef and veal frank. Rutt's Hutt uses a pork and beef frank. Can it be that you just don't like pork and beef dogs? Also note there is a "edit post" feature on this board. It IS possible to change the first sentence of this thread to something like "This is definitely one to avoid if you only like New York kosher-style all beef frankfurters."

This is like a drive by shooting. Had Walters been serving food that was spoiled they would have closed the place. Were they cooked incorrectly, was the place unclean, did you have any fries or sides, was it crowded, etc.... But just dropping a bomb on your first post is not only suspect but grade school. Back up your post with some facts. Share some good experiences. And bring something to the site with merit and credibility....Russ

Richard if I am wrong I will apologize. Just as Russ said it just seems
strange that you pop up out of nowhere and try to shoot down two old
established hot dog emporiums. Besides which I hate Oliver Stone.
