I travelled to Walter's in Larchmont this afternoon, after reading the write up in the latest edition of Roadfood. Being a neophyte to this Westchester institution, the dogs were served as described by Jane and Michael. What wasn't mentioned in the critique was that you can get a jar of the mustard for $2, and the sweet potato nuggets were VERY tasty! I wish there was a Walter's- or a Hiram's- here in Rockland County...yet there is a new place called Diggity Dogs in Blauvelt which I wrote about last week.

I can only say that Walter's and Hiram's are two of the worst hotdog places I've ever seen. Walter's has tasteless dogs with only one available condiment, and Hiram's employees look like they were extras in "Deliverence". I threw 2/3 of my Hiram's dog in the garbage on the way out.

Must be me. If you take these two joint and add Rutt's, you've about covered the bottom of the barrel. I'd rather eat dirty water dogs at any Sabrett street vendor in NYC.

    Just my opinion, of course.

Whatever; I'm not a fan of Walter's either, I just thought you might have something constructive to say. As my sister-in-law 'The Queen' would say, 'Drive carefully now!'

Uh-huh. And what's the relevance of your sister-in-law's warning?
