Warmed Dr. Pepper

Hi, When I spent summers in North Carolina, I found many people warmed up a mug of Dr.Pepper and drank it like hot chocolate. Try it..it's delicious..especially on a cold night! leethebard

I remember seeing the commercials for hot Dr. Pepper with a squeeze of lemon when I was a kid. The scenario was Canadian trappers around a campfire talking about the fact that "Pierre" had really lost it because he was drinking his Dr. Pepper hot. I think we tried it once or twice but never developed a liking for it.

If you would try it twice, you could host Bizarre Foods.

We had it often in my younger days...with a slice of lemon floating on the surface of a steaming coffee mug full of Dr Pepper. The ads were very similiar to the Mug-of-soup on a winter day ads put out by Campbells Soups. Remember the Kitchen scene with kids and mugs at the table..frostin windows with winter snow scene outside.???

Yes, the ads had hot DP in a glass coffee cup and saucer, with the slice of lemon afloat. I had a black & white 16mm copy of it in my high school (Skyline) cinematography class in Dallas, home to DP. BTW, there is still a plant (the oldest one) in Dublin, TX, that uses only cane sugar in their DP. I buy cases of the stuff here in LA. Remember how DP suggested you drink it at 10, 2, and 4? -Scott Lindgren

I'd drink hot Dr Pepper on Wisconsin winter nights when I couldn't sleep due to chest congestion and a looming book deadline. It's rather pleasant. Hot Jolt on the other hand-- that experiment turned out to be an inutterable abomination.

I tried it and it was lousy. However I do think that Dr Pepper is the best soda to drink with Mexican food. My favorite beer with Mexican food is Tecate...Russ

Hot Dr Pepper was mentioned on a Barney Miller episode. When there was a water shortage Wojo heated some up to replace the coffee. Barney spit it out.

I have never tried Bourbon and Dr. Pepper. Also I dont think I would put really good Bourbon in any soda. I like it straight. I do have the occasional Jack and Coke next time I will try it with Dr Pepper. Heck I will even try it warm if you like. I love Irish Coffee...Russ

I grew Up in Minot Northdakota. Nothing Like having Dr. Warming up in the coffee maker while I delivered my newspapers at -30 degrees with out windchill. Come home to that HOT Dr. Pepper. Man that was nice. I have not had it in years, but still do drink a 6 pack of Dr, Pepper a day.
