Our town centrally softens the water so residents have no need to install a water softener, and worse, have to maintain it. Our town wells draw from an aquifer that is more than 400 feet down.

I love water, too, and we have relatively good municipal water here, but all my drinking/cooking water goes through steam distillation. I can't bring myself to drink it from the tap.

You guys are fancy. I drink somewhere around 320+ ounces per day. I have a pretty gallon pitcher at work (we have spring water there, neenah springs, i think, it comes in big bottles) and here at home about 64 ounces at night & then again in the am before work all from the tap. (I'm on medication that makes me drink a lot plus almost every rx i am on has a side effect of dry mouth) At the beginning of the clinical trial I am doing (6 years ago!), I thought about filtering the water, but have found that I do not have time for all that rigamarole. I just want to drink the water & do so out of the tap. I have glass bottles I store it in & sometimes I leave them in the car overnight or the fridge to get cold. Very refreshing. I don't like ice or a straw, they slow me down. I do like it cold, though.

If I could go back to the time my grandparents had their farm, I would love to have a glass of their well water!! Since, I can't , I have to say I am addicted to 2 kinds of bottled water- Aquafina & Kroger bottled water. I drink a lot of water & I am hooked on the bottles. I also like the little packets of flavoring that you can put into a bottle. My newest favorite are Arnold Palmer iced tea packets-1/2 tea, 1/2 lemon. I got the Arnold Palmer iced tea packets at Meijer.

Just a little bit to top off a glass of Canadian Whiskey.
