I just had a quick question. I searched the topic and found a post where That's My Dawg posted about being unhappy with his water flow and he installed a water pump. Specifically, I didnt see the answer to my question--which goes hand in hand with his post. ....... Should the gravity feed water basically just trickle out of the faucets? Is that typically how carts work? Or should their be a full water flow or stream of water?

The water in my cart trickles out of the faucet. It's a steady trickle and gets the job done, but it's nothing like turning the kitchen sink on.

Ok Thanks Methais. I guess thats just typical for the carts, I just wanted to make sure.

Also, if the doors are missing for the bun storage area.. I had the idea to have plexiglass cut to size at Lowes, and then add knobs to open and close them. However, I have only one piece of track that the doors slide in which could be the lower piece. So now I need a upper piece. I asked at Lowes, two people, and looked for myself. With no luck! Any ideas where I could find a piece...Should I check Home Depot or Ace Hardware? One more small detail.. the knob is missing that allows you to turn the gas level on the front of the cart from high to low. Its not a deal breaker since you can turn it with your hand. I would like it to look nice though and more professional. I looked at Lowes in the grill area for spare knobs, but I didnt see any. Anyone know where I might get this knob?  Thanks

Are you running a 6 volt battery or 12 volt battery with your water pump? When I bought my cart it had a 6 volt and trickled out. I bought a 12 volt (boat or motorcycle battery size) and it flows alot better. Make sure the pump can handle a 12 volt and give that a try. If it already runs a 12 volt try charging it fully.

As for the doors. I had a local plastic shop (Taps platics) make me some plastic shelves for my bun storage. Try giving a plastic shop a try. They can fit it to your needs.

I am not sure about the knobs for the burners.

Thanks Quickdog! I dont have a pump at all, its just gravity feed.Do newer carts have electric pumps? I see that adding a pump will definitely increase water flow, but I dont know if I want to do that. I just wanted to see if the "trickle" is typical. I mean, it seems the water does work--just not a hard flow. And that is good enough for me for now--if that is normal.

              Tanks

get a 12 volt rv pump - they will give you great pressure and have built in pressure switch and everything. cheap simple and pretty quiet too.

You might check your tank to make sure the vent is open or open the filler cap.   If not a vacuum may be forming in the top.   The water should flow the same as pouring water from a can with the same size hole as the sink faucet.

                  excellent point edwmax!

could be a vent/vacuum problem or even some crud in the line/faucet.

Only a trickle. I knew in 2 minutes I could not live with that amount. When I saw how long it took to wash my hands (properly) and how long it took to fill up my steam pans I knew a change was coming. Water runs exactly like my home now, strong and fast. If you can live with the trickle then live with it and save a few bucks, if not you know what to do...

Thanks guys. I will check for a vent or try the filler cap off(although I think I have tried it without that cap on). I know the 12 volt pump sounds like the key and an easy install. Any ideas on the knob or the door sliding track?

In Arizona the inspectors say it has to be 1 gal minute and I passed. And its gravity fed.
