I just probably haven't figured it out yet, but when I click on a thread on the 'Recent Conversations' page, it takes me to the Navigation Page, where I have to hunt and search for the thread I'm looking for. Is there some way I can get directly to my thread like on the old forum ? Thanks, Computer Twit

Well ain't this special. I go away for a few days and the place goes to ---- in a hand basket. Took me forever to learn to ride a bike, I was 16 I think. I'm still running Win 98 because I have a fear of change. Oh well, life goes on and I shall adapt in time. I like the fact the nosey section is back, I like to see whos reading what, now just to find it. And I hope we will be able to see locked threads, I'm drawn to them like a moth to a light. Chow Jim

The tool I use is Forum Menu > Posts since last visit. It seems to be the fastest way for me to navigate messages and for the most part it updates messages interactively every time you select it. Since you often finish reading a thread at the last message I would not mind seeing the Forum Menu pull down at the bottom of the thread to the left of the Jump to selection below the Quick Reply window if that is possible. When you get to the Posts since last visit the best clues are the colored in page icons and I alway click on the page icon to the right of the message thread title that takes you to the first unread post in the thread. That icon disappears after you have read all the posts and go back to the Posts since last visit listing. I never click on the last post icon in the right column like you had to do to navigate down in a multi-page thread in the old forum.

Thanks, I think, I guess the old brain needs some adrenalin to figure out all this, but I'm getting there, just takes a while. The new forum is neat and everyday I find a new way of doing things,,,,,,,slowly.

mar52; Dearfolk, Me, too... especially since I'm using the small-screen computer at the Athens Regional Library now, and can't blow the type up any bigger. Eventually I'll learn how to use those functions, but not now when just typing this is a low-grade ordeal. Sqintingly, Ort. Carlton in Amazing Athens. P. S. I said "sqint" because hopefully many of "u" don't have to. Tee hee.

I got the same message this morning when trying to post. It cleared up after a few attempts over five or so minutes.

Looks like we're all going to have to put up with the new format's "growing pains".

If a '67 Camaro broke, I'd fix it. And sure wouldn't replace it with a 2008 model.

Is it still happening? I tried it with a few different browsers on a high speed and then on dial up and it worked fine on all.

Yet to not find a part I need for that classic! Might take a little snooping, but it's out there. And if your family from '67 is still riding with ya, just hang it up.

I'm sorry if this has already been answered but why is it that sometimes the pictures are normal size and then sometimes very tiny. It sometimes happens in the same post( some normal, some tiny). Just now I was reading one of Ellens Trip Reports and the pictures were fine. I went back in a few minutes later and they were tiny. Sometimes reloading the page fixes it, sometimes not.

Stephen, can you check into seeing if the new forum supports IE Explorer 5.1.4 for Mac? ASPPlayground is blocked at my workplace, and my home mac I use i don't care to upgrade til late Q1 2009. If not, you loose me as a contributor in every way shape or form unless I'm at a host machine. BTW, I subscribe to 12 forums and am Admin and moderator to 2 of them and have not ever had the issues and lack of support that ASPPlayground sets up. TIA jjjrfoodie

Asking web sites to configure themselves for such old software is like complaining to the highway department that there isn't room on the shoulder to ride your donkey. Why not firefox or safari?
