Stephen, can you check into seeing if the new forum supports IE Explorer 5.1.4 for Mac?

ASPPlayground is blocked at my workplace, and my home mac I use i don't care to upgrade til late Q1 2009.

If not, you loose me as a contributor in every way shape or form unless I'm at a host machine.

BTW, I subscribe to 12 forums and am Admin and moderator to 2 of them and have not ever had the issues and lack of support that ASPPlayground sets up.

Why are you using an 7 or 8 year old browser? Asking web sites to configure themselves for such old software is like complaining to the highway department that there isn't room on the shoulder to ride your donkey. Why not firefox or safari?

What part of my initial question was unclear?

I can get parts and support for my 25 year old Porsche all day long..and online to boot.
Do software folks now deem themselves as the "doctors" aka "god" of the virtual world.

Yet another indiviual with a tone and attitude but no help.

Except the old forum wasn't a porsche, it was more like a 95 cavalier

My Tampa pic report ..

Now that I managed to get rid of the extra salad pics, I still have that "broken link" red x thing there and a big white empty box..

What gives?!?!!!

How do I edit a pic OFF my post, and get rid the pic AND the big white box??

Also , after it says "this message is successfully edited", the screen seems SO SLOW to get back to the forum page.
Can that be speeded up???????

i love it! i still can't reply to anything and logging in is still very hit-and-miss....... everything is working about as well as a 2008 corvette can be expected to run.......... :( i realize that this is supposed to be progress, but usually this stuff is tested before actually being used... oh, that's right- testing costs money..............

I just wish that everyone would use a larger font for those of us without 20/20 vision.

The font size on the main part of the forum is exactly the same as the other one.

Did you notice my question, Stephen? It's right above all the FONT stuff...
I need HELP editing pics!!
 
Is there a way to post a pic directly from my pics without that extra step of copying it unto the Roadfood insider page first?
That would save hours on  the Trip Reports "pasting" ..

It might be the same size but it IS much more difficult to read; maybe because the background is so white.

  I tend to do what you just did..set the font on Times New Roman..size three and bold type when I respond to a post.

Testing, testing...

When you edit old messages in a thread it messes up the thread navigation. This is what I found in this thread that I posted there...

When I checked Posts Last Visited for this thread this 12/24/08 morning I saw that Buffetbuster was the last poster. Unfortunately, this thread does not work like the old forum. It gets confused if someone edits an old post. If you select First New Posts (the icon next to the thread title in the first column) it will take you to the first post in this six page thread. If you select Last Post (the icon that was next to Buffetbuster's name in the right column) it will take you to the last new post that was on 12/10/08 on the last page and not Buffetbuster's post that I think may be on the 3rd page.

I am having problems viewing the photos on the forums. they show up as small thumbnails. if i switch message options some get bigger - but some never do!
 
Any suggestions?

Ellen,

Go to Message Options and select Edit Message. Unlike the old forum that showed you the http code for a photo this software still shows you the photo when you edit. Click on the photo to highlight it and then click on Delete or Cut.

I think when a post is edited in a thread even if it is the last one posted it messes up the navigation tools.

I'm beginning to think RF'ers own all the remaining kay-pros in the World.

When I click on a current topic on the home page, I keep getting directed to the forum navigation page.
Then I have to find the category for the thread I wanted.

All I was saying is that web pages are made to work with the browsers that the majority will be using. It is not a matter of software people playing god, it is that to have features people want and that will make their online experience safe and productive things have to be current. Do you complain that your anti-virus software is too current? To use your car analogy, making a web site that works for IE5 is like expecting a highway to reserve a lane for cars from the 1930's that can't go over 40. It would be a nice gesture, but not very practical. 

The help that anyone would recommend is to update your computer and software. IE5 is full of bugs and security flaws. There hasn't been support for it in many years. If you don't or can't update or upgrade the unfortunate reality is you will find yourself encountering software and web pages that won't work well for you. 

Sorry if the cold slap of reality is too much "attitude" for you.

I am getting the same error message on that thread this morning - it has been over 24 hours now - that seems to be the only thread I get the message on and am unable to post on - so strange!

Please provide me with links to the pages that cause you errors.  Thanks!

I even took off the rest of the day from work; it was slow in the casino, and this way I can have more time to work on my Trip Reports!
And hopefully, not get too frustrated..!
 
UPDATE!!! I am getting frustrated......I could not manage to highlight, much less find the spots to click  "delete or cut"...
I'm still trying to get rid of those 2 empty white boxes with red "x's on them..

And I seem to be getting no help at all from the adminstrators...
STEPHEN, the title of this is thread is "we are listening".....
So, perhaps you just did'nt notice my 2 posts ???? Or you are simply overwhelmed?
I hope one or both is the case, cause I am feeling not too cared about..
It's enough to make me want to start my own blog today....

When I click on a photo when in edit mode a rectangle box with tiny squares in the corners and at the midpoint of the sides appears. By dragging on the boxes you can resize a photo, but more importantly, you can just delete the photo once it is selected like that. It does not highlight as in dragging over and a background color change like text.
