We are getting a SONIC...

Right off the freeway in the 'Sha. Do you know where Hwy 18 meets Bluemound meets I-94? Yeah, the new Sonic will be not far from there. I've still never eaten there. We also have one not far from the stadium in Milwaukee, but I still haven't been there. I've heard mixed reviews about the food from "just ok" to AWFUL. It's just off Springdale Road, on 18. North side of the street. Next to where Dunkin Donuts used to be. I wonder if they have unsweetened iced tea? A drive thru? The mind boggles.

The Sonics around here have drive-through windows, and I've never known one that did not have unsweetened iced tea.

I like their varied drink offerings and how they use soft serve ice cream. If you are lucky, you'll have some nice looking skaters, too. Only thing I eat there is the onion rings and their drinks. Their Cherry Lime Ricky is very good! It probably will be a big success. It's interesting that they build in areas where there are tough winters. Maybe the have an eat in area?

I asked before about snow tires on the skates, mentioned studs & tire chains, even little snow plows on the skates. the best thing at Sonic IMHO are the breakfast sandwichs, coney dogs, & as Baah Ben said the drinks. good luck in the frozen north in the winter with the waitresses with long johns on.

They shovel the snow and the carhops roller skate all winter long here.

We have two Sonics here in town. One on FM78 and up on FM3009 and IH35 North here in Schertz. Both are pretty good, and i sometimes go to one or the other. At work here we have gotten the Route 44's cause you can get them for half price after 2:00 here. Boy do they hit the spot in this Teaxas heat. I saw they had a couple of new things on the menu, but I haven't tried them. Here the carhops don't use the skates . Haven't tried the dollar menu, but it looks good.

Our Sonic's finally brought back the Pickle O's. I got an order the other day. They were good but the order was very small (about 12 of them for $2.49 which I thougt was a little high. They used to make a great steak sandwich and brought it back last summer for a while but it is gone again. I always get a Diet Strawberry Lime-aide w/extra strawberries and it is so refreshing. Tried their new mago breeze and it was good too.

Historical or factual errors are a pet peeve of mine. In one of the recent " two guys in the car" commercials the 'passenger is using a combination of numbers to make a connection with Sonic menu..He says that he remembers "35, because thats the age a person must be to become a Congressman". Well, that's the minimum age for President, 25 is the minimum for a Member of Congress!. (They need better research!)

I can see WJ admonishing TTM for eating something regionally inappropriate in a commercial. As much as I enjoy Sonic's cherry limeades, I found out yesterday it doesn't go well with fudge . I probably should have been able to figure that out ahead of time.

I would love to see someone rise out of the back seat & knock out those two idiots before they can open their mouths. I think a large part of my dislike of Sonics stems from their commercials.

We love the Crazy Ladies Late Night Snackin commercial. We even text each other "Lets get some eggs, and boil em" We did a drive by of the Sonic yesterday. They have men in vests arranging the parking. The line was 6 deep, we were #7 & did not have that kind of time. The person in the vest came to the passenger window & asked if we were going to Sonic. We politely declined & went to the Chocolate Factory http://www.subsandicecream.com/ instead because there was no line & no waiting. Someone else went yesterday & told them she just wanted the drive thru & was able to get lunch during our half hour lunch hour. We may try this tomorrow. Or we may go to my favorite Italian place near work & get their fish fry with Silician steak breading. http://www.albanesesroadhouse.com/
