We were so sorry to hear about this. We'd only met Bushie the one time, but really liked him.

Wishing all his family and good friends peace. It's never easy.

This is absolutely a horrible event.  I am greatly saddened to hear the news.

I found this pic of Paul, Bushie and Pogo from a few years ago.

I will close this thread with a photo of what I believe my friend's Padre Rick Flinn, and Mark 'Bushie' Rodebush are doing at that Great MEET n EAT in the BBQ BELT Section of whatever form of "Heaven" you may identify with.
Here is a fond memory of the two Gentlemen sampling BBQ from one of the Lockhart, Texas Pits on one of our visits to the area.
God Bless and Keep You, Father Rick, and Bushie
You are missed by your friends here.

I only now just noticed this thread and I'm at a loss for words.
As Mayor Al said a few pages back, Bushie was a great guy!

Bushie was one of only a small group of people here at Roadfood.com that I've been fortunate enough to share meals with. He was a quiet, gentle man who's occasional company I was privileged to be in.

I'll miss Bushie and the meals we shared at Louie Mueller BBQ.

God is very fortunate to have Bushie. I only hope God likes Texas BBQ as much as Bushie does.

R.I.P. my friend. It was a pleasure to know you.

I met up with Rick Flynn in Shreveport, LA and we went for a bone jarring drive in his Porsche to Austin to visit with Bushie and his wife.  Rick complained because I would not drive his Porsche hard.  I kept it at the speed limit going and coming.  Rick enjoyed his libation and so do I.  The night in Austin was one to be remembered and I will not talk about circumstance in Austin although it was hilarious.  I had never driven a Porsche before and the suspension is not fun on interstate.  Rick was a blast though and we enjoyed our time with Bushie and his wife Sherry.

The greatest tribute to a person is what people say about you when you are gone.

I don't know how I missed this.  I am devastated!  I met Bushie in Nashville, and enjoyed his humor and wit and quiet charm.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Bushie's family and to his many friends, esp his Roadfood "family".  He was sorely missed at last year's Glee Club, and it will never be the same without him.  So sad.

Bushie downloaded this years ago to RF.  Always the joker...
