Am I the only one wondering why there's a Wendy's ad on Roadfood, and why it's not confined to the fast-food-franchise-chain section?

I suspect the computer generated ad service (Google I assume) is not yet perfected enough to target ads as closely as many subscribers would desire. All the computer knows is key words...it sees them and strikes. I would not hold my breath for any ad program being able to identify specific forums anytime in the near future

It would eventually go away if people didn't click on it.

Do people really click on ads? To me they are kind of like telephone poles on the street. You hardly notice them.

It's part of the constant Marketing Barrage of large food companies. Someone in a "B" School, many years ago, coined the Phrase "Top of Mind Awareness' & since then we've been bombarded. It was probably those Left Wing Conspiritors at HAAAAvard! What's even scareier is "University College London researchers have found the first physiological evidence that invisible subliminal images do attract the brain's attention on a subconscious level. The wider implication for the study, published in Current Biology, is that techniques such as subliminal advertising, now banned in the UK but still legal in the USA, certainly do leave their mark on the brain." Source: University College London Date: March 9, 2007 Of course, this theory assumes we have a Brain!

Hey, if it weren't for these useful pop-ups I'd have no idea the McD's is now doing a double filet-o-fish! Cause chances of me actually going into a McD's before this promotion is over are pretty slim.
