Wendy's Baconator review

I went in and there was the big sign on the inside on the stand-up board thing. It looked so good in the picture. I decided I didn't even need fries and just got the sando with a small Frosty. I think the baconator runs about $3.99. "I need another baconator!" the kid yelled to the other kids on the kitchen crew. At that point I had a delightful feeling that it was going to be a fresh, piping hot one. I got plenty of napkins for the ride. I walked the bag and my Frosty to the car and reached inside and pulled out the burger. It had that heavy feel to it and the wrapper felt hot so I knew this was going to be good. I couldn't even wait to start my car so I put the bag on the trunk of my car and surveyed the burger. The corners of the two beef patties were exploding out of the corn-dusted bun which was sturdy enough to keep everything together. you could see parts of the bacon buldging out as well. Things were promising. I sank my chicklets into that thing and the burger was juicy, there was plenty of cheese and bacon, and this thing was better than I expected. I took another bite and decided this thing was MORE than worthy of eating while driving, plus as stated earlier it wasn't messy and the bun and cheese secured everything. You can taste hints of the ketchup at times but the mayo is overpowered by everything else. I can't think of anything they could add to this. Maybe some pickles but that wouldn't be necessary. Mushrooms? Sure, but no need to get cute. I was thinking about this as I was eating it. Having mustard instead of mayo would have complemented the flavors a bit better in my opinion. I am not sure if there were actually six strips on bacon on that damned thing. It was enough, but I pictured it being difficult to eat. There was a nice drizzle out as I chowed on this thing and slurped my Frosty. About half way through I was jamming the son of a bitch in my Frosty so that the next bite was completely covered with that chocolate treat. The last bite involved me submerging it as deep as I could into the Frosty and popping it down my piehole at a stoplight while someone beside me probably watched with horror. Even cars behind me weren't going to stop me from firing the bag, some napkins and wrapper out the window. After finishing the Frosty I chucked that thing on the highway as well, wiped my grill with the last few napkins and let them fly out the window. RACK the baconator.

If nobody else will say it, let me be the first. I genuinely appreciate your tossing trash onto our roadways. It greatly enhances our road trips, not to mention providing jobs for the inmates.

Hopefullly, this guy was not serious when he wrote this. If he was, I would not bother reading any more of his posts. If he is serious, I would call him a law breaking slob.

I tried a "baconator" the other day for the first time . . . . . . . and the LAST time. Awful hamburger. Terrible meat. Great marketing (since they suckered me into buying one), but lousy product. I can see why many Wendy's are closing up.

Oh, I don't know, Greymo. Someone who eats while driving, dunks his sandwich in a shake, and then tosses his mess out the window as he drives along obviously was raised that way. See, it's an environmental thing. He doesn't know how to behave among decent people.

DTC - I would like to know if your post was a spoof, ala Denis Leary's song "I'm an A*%hole" or not. And did you really like the burger or not? Thanks, Kevin

I loved it! Seriously. And whenever I eat in my car, I always throw the trash out my window. Who likes a slob who keeps garbage in their car? Plus, my taxes pay for the streetcleaners and the inmates to clean the highways

It gives them the opportunity to stop driving and write tickets for littering. Nice fines, too. $500 for tossing a Wendy's bag out the window.

Cops should focus on real crimes, in my opinion. Greymo, we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Part of the charm of hitting the drive-through and eating while driving is the afterchuck. It's like when a football player catches a touchdown pass and spikes the ball in the end zone. Flinging the empty bag out is like spiking the football and it a true gesture of appreciation and nod of approval towards the restaurant you just went to.

Much as I'm a little nervous about reviving this thread, I ran across another review of the Baconator that folks might appreciate. http://www.thewvsr.com/baconator.htm BTW - Am I the only person who is disappointed that Wendy's cancelled the Bacon Classic in favor of this thing?

Hmm, I've had no problems getting the Bacon Classic from the several Wendy's locales that I've visited, this being since the Baconator's release. It's not on boards, but, apparently it's still on their registers. Have you actually been told they aren't available upon ordering one?
