I remember them. That was good eating (well, for a fast food joint. ;) )

I especially liked the salads. What a steal! I used to get a salad to go at lunch.
I dutifully filled the very thin "bottom" tray and covered it with the domed
top, until I saw a fellow diner fill the top and use the bottom as a lid.

The Help would always frown about that, but never said anything.

Ahhh...well do I remember the mounds of pasta topped by chili hamburger and beans.

I discussed this with a fellow diner once, who opined that it wasn't people
like me, um...pigging out, but rather prep time and attendant labor costs
that finally stopped Wendy's. Too bad.

You are quite correct. That plus the quality of todays's minimum wage staff applicants. Total trash and most a total waste of humanity. No sense of organization but always presenting with an invasive attitude of "what is owed to them" vs. "the duties and responsibilities of the job". (TRASH IN = TRASH OUT)... Efficiency rarely equaled 50%. Been there. Done THAT!

According to the Wendy's corporate literature, they are not a fast food joint. They are a "rapid service restaurant."

The Wendy's around the Indianapolis / Carmel area are so so. They are quick with the service, the food is hot. But when I order a cheeseburger with onion, tomato and mayo. That is what I expet.

I guess tht is what happens when you hire who English is a 2nd lang.

When my daughter was little, I used to take her to that after her karate class. I do remember that garlic bread, but not much else. It was a long time ago!

The official name was "SuperBar" if I recall. We used to go to the one on Exit 3 off the NJ Turnpike on the way home and eat all we could for 4 bucks.

I think the Superbar went around the same time they stopped busing tables.

Remember when Wendy's was the fast food place that didn't have garbage cans on the floor? They were in a closed service area and people actually cleaned the tables.

Yes & there was a hostess who would greet customers & pour refills on coffee in the mornings.
