Here's a link for Hay's Smokehouse fans. This is pretty interesting and part of an overall program, the Southern Foodways Alliance, which I find interesting.

Believe it or not, that article is what turned us on to the area originally. That started the conversation between Poverty, Mayor and Pogophiles and of course myself. Our first trip to that area, we did four BBQ places in one day. That was way too much.

Hays is by far the best we have experienced in the area.

I enjoyed the article very much.

You guys remember the place I wanted to meet for breakfast that morning, that I hadn't realized was closed weekends? Well, it's now open for breakfast on Saturday. I was in there last week, and had country ham biscuits, and listened to Patsy Cline.

Where was that Poverty. For some reason that escapes me. Perhaps it was the ambiance or some other substance that caused the lack of memory

Paul, it's called the eye-40, and was about 100 yards north of the Waffle House where you and I had coffee, while Al and Bushie were out sampling the day's first ribs.
