BABY BACK RIBS from BUB'S BBQ near Northampton, MA

They did not have beef ribs (shucks)
So I got the BRISKET SANDWICH and the 1/2 BBQ CHICKEN..
the brisket was NO MATCH for Austin, of course .... ......the meat tasted more like a pot roast, just not what I was expecting.... it was tender, however...  I just had about 2 bites of it

The chicken was much too SAUCY..... I prefer BBQ chicken to be basted nicely with BBQ, and then I like some extra sauce on the side.... (to dip at my leisure)
once again, the meat was tender and fresh, however...

    more coming!

And MICHAEL STERN'S favorite expression in on AYERSIAN'S  back !

Michael often puts that disclaimer on his Roadfood reviews.... good idea !

How about having official Roadfood shirts made up with these gentlemen in the Mount Rushmore pose?  You could add some catchy phrase such as "Roadfood: bigger than life" or something better than my attempt.  The shirts would be best-sellers.

    Bruce,

    Thanks for the compliment!
Too bad I didn't realize the photo was being taken, so I could have posed and given my "honest Abe" best!

thanks Ann...nice hearing from you again...
Actually I was probably the only person in our group that did NOT have any of the antipasto, as I am not a ham/salami eater...

I was the one that suggested we also order Joe's house salad, which we did...

The only thing I was surprised at was the ham they used-maybe I am wrong, but it looked like average deli ham to me.... a proper proscuitto(sp) is what is normally served. But everything else looked awesome!!

The only thing better than that proposed t-shirt would be a tiny Michael Hoffman (a la Cary Grant in 'North by Northwest') crawling up it.

    Here's Joe's "ANTIPASTO SALAD" ...
How was it, guys?!?  (I did not partake)
I had suggested we also order "Joe's HOUSE SALAD"

Their so called famous house dressing had absolutely no taste.. Gregg said it probably never got stirred properly

    This is Joe's $12.00 pizza...........juicy and delicious !!
    5/24/
Here's the pizza with just about EVERYTHING on it!

On the way back from Joe's Pizza, I noticed this burger joint in downtown Northampton.
I had read about it before on Chowhound.com.
Gregg said he went there once; he remembered a flattop grill burger that was not too special..
    I think I'll take a pass...

    ......

The garlic bread WAS killer - Ellen, what do you think - it tasted like they sliced it, and then dunked the entire thing into a garlic butter/oil mixture and baked.....it was seriously decadent.  Although an admitted New Haven pizza snob, I give a gold fork to the folks at Joe's - it was seriously decent pizza.  And the prices were incredible for the amount of food we ordered.  Thanks again too to Greg for getting us all organized, and pointing us to some great food experiences.

    Ellen and Terri,

That garlic bread looks great, and since you both endorse it, that must be some great bread.  It's making me hungry just looking at it.  The pizza did not look as good to me at the New Haven pizza (three trips and I am becoming a New Haven pizza snob, I guess), but again the fact that you all like it means that it must be good.  Thanks for sharing the pictures and the details.

It was ham, but not from an ordinary deli, that is for sure and the prosciutto was plentiful and buried inthe second or third layer of meats and cheeses.
