What Are Y'all Eating These Days In Austin Texas?

Austin is seriously under represented on this board. This post will narrate what's happening out here in the great state.
 
Galloway Sandwich Shop on e. 12th st. has consistently put out the finest, cast iron cooked fried chicken in town. I've never had a sandwich there but they do put out the best meat n 2 in Austin.
 
Go for the mashed potatoes, collards, smothered steak, corn bread, slow cooked grits, handmade breakfast sausage and gravy.
 
What's everybody eating these days in Austin?

Max's has outstanding fried chicken.

Right now they're eating Crow in Austin. Bevo & the boys in ugly orange are not doin' so good!

Max's does have fried chicken at their Austin outlet: at 15 dollars for two pieces.

I can remember 2 places I miss in Austin. The Tamale House at 1st. and Congress. You could get a few of their great soft tacos, walk across 1st. Street, and eat your tacos while watching the river flow by. Shanghai Charlie's Chili Rice, a take off of Shanghai Jimmy's in Dallas. It was near the U.T. book store on the street right behind the main drag. Great Chili Rice! Jimmy must have taught Charlie how to make that Chili Rice. I ate their at least twice a week.
