In your area John chic-a-fil. If you had camped out for the new store opening a couple of days ago you could be eating chicken for a year once a week for free. Only the first hundred customers though. Chow Jim

Just had a wrap thing from PopEye"s, $1.29. Flour tortilla, seared chicken strip, slaw, w/ jalapeno sauce, real good! They make it w/ a fried strip also, but the seared I liked better. Joe

Everything but Wendy's in my book. The Burger King $1 Double Cheeseburgers are even better Heck I would eat White Castle all day and night before touching a Mcdonald's Cheeseburger.

I had a $2 Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese yesterday. To my tastes, I like that $1 Double Cheeseburger better. The Half Pounder had TOO MUCH McDonalds beef for the cheese & condiments that were on it. All I could taste was that mystery meat. And John, thanks for the $1 biscuit idea. Those are good.

I think the McDonald's bacon, egg and cheese biscuit is something like $3 or at the very least $2.50. You might be able to get a sausage mcmuffin - no egg - for $1, and I think their chicken biscut may be $1.50. If you notice, the Dollar menus, whether it be at McDonalds or Wendy's or one of the other places, now have a few items for a $1 and a few items for under $2.

Right now it's a buck at the local McD's. They rotate breakfast items on sale each month.

I was looking at a McDonalds menu the other day, and the double cheese burger was $1 but the regular cheese burger was $1.09. I understand the concept of a loss leader, but this pricing scheme seems to lay waste to any notion that prices are rational.

Hardees now has "snack-size" deals that are a small cheeseburger/hamburger/ham & cheese/spicy chicken sandwich, with fries and a regular drink, for $1.99. Much better than McD's, IMHO.

There is something about MC D's cheese. That cheese that they put on ther burgers/breakfast sandwich is the best cheese ever. I realize it is processed crap-but no other place has cheese like that

Wendy's just started advertising a double cheeseburger that is obviously meant to compete with McD. I have not had the Wendy's product yet, but I do think the McD product is a great deal.

The regular cheese burger Robearjr mentioned I think has lettuce and tomato. It's 40c to add that to a DCB. Joe

Joe Well, do they still sell the regular hamburger and cheeseburger? I assume they still come in the happy meal, but it seems like years since I saw the single on their menu. I think they sold for 69 cents when I last saw them.

If I'm in a hurry on the road at times I'll stop at McD or a BK and get a plain burger. They're not bad, I'm paying a lot for a bunch of bun and condiments, and I think they're a lot better than the burgers they promote.

The wraps I had were just chicken, slaw, and a jalapeno mayo sauce. I thought they were real good. They didn't have the other ones mentioned in the article. Joe

I just got back from McDonalds, and the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit was not a dollar. I think they were charging $3 for it.
