    Michael,
Yoga is a guy not a doll.  (From the Bway Musical starring Robert Alda.)  Yes, and not only that, he is in Cooperstown in the Baseball Hall of Fame.  Played for the cursed Yankees.

I'll bet Labs and Chesapeake Bay, maybe Short Hair and Golden Retrirvers!

Yellow labs and Chessies. Both great hunting dogs, and they've been my breeds for along time. Although I did come close to getting a Hemlock setter once.

Hemlock is  the name of a place in West Virginia where a great bird-dog man and grouse hunter named George Bird Evanse lived and worked. His setters were coveted the world around.

I have difficulty imagining the guy in W V training his dogs using Ancient Greek as the spoken commands !!! The only image I get when thinking of this exercise, is a scene from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (the movie) where they meet "Soc-Rates".
Even Michael won't admit seeing that film !
As one of the few Roadfooders still on the site who has enjoyed a meet-n-eat with the Honorable Gentleman from Ohio, I wish to endorse the positive comments drawn from the adoring crowd as he wanders the Mid-West in search of new adventures.  You are indeed the "Character" you portray so well in these forums.

While I did enjoy a number of MacDonald's Travis McGee novels I don't consider myself a real fan -- I just haven't read enough of them to qualify. As for Louis L'Amour, well, I did like many of his books, but I thought he became formulaic.

By the way CTF , I really appreciate the fact that you've made me your idol, but you really shouldn't go overboard.

My Father and Uncle read every one of them. Read and swap back and forth. I am betting you love Last of the Mohicans as well?...Russ

I did have a Parker 51 when I was a kid -- I think junior high school. A gift. But I've been using a Cross pen since about 1966.

Oh, and I did love The Last of the Mohicans. James Fenimore Cooper was my favorite author at one time.

And I can't believe I was able to get on Roadfood without a battle. Nothing but computer problems today.

3 handed Pinochle is my favorite. Nasty game. Followed by Poker and Gin. Euchre was left out as it is only a game of cheating. But if anyone would like to play for money I have a partner...Russ

I used to play gin and chess with my wifem and a little with my grandson when he was a little boy. I think the last time I played poker was in the '60s. Pinochle was my grandfather's game with a weird deck. Bridge, canasta, hearts? Never tried 'em.

Didn't you usta get all your duds from the Sears-Roebuck Catalog ?
But if you needed something real quick like, there was always the
Army-Navy Store down on Main St.

Never could buy anything on Sunday because all the stores were closed.

When we lived in Brooklyn on Sunday we could shop on Pitkin Ave cause that was where all the Jewish merchants were.  Make  sure you brought a good bargainer with you.
