Besides peanut butter or slices of cheddar, best thing in the world to eat with boiled crabs is a cold beer, and some of that back fin, lump crabmeat piled on a saltine cracker.

Saltines crumbled in chili or clam chowder mmmmmm
Saltines topped with
peanut butter
grape jelly
tuna salad
ham salad
butter when eating a salad or bowl of soup
american cheese
corned beef hash
Saltines crumbled into bowl topped with sugared and sliced strawberries topped with homemade whipped cream for a very southern Strawberry Shortcake

Dearfolk,
Has anyone tried livermush? Maybe even with a dollop of hot sauce (preferably Texas Pete)??

Hot Dog Head, I get a brand called Koegel's pickled bologna. I live in Michigan so I don't know if you can get it in other states. It's like the large ring bologna except it is in a pickled juice and there are red peppers in the juice too. It is a very different juice than what a dill pickle is in. You can buy an individual ring or you can buy it in a half-gallon or gallon jug of the stuff. If it's in the jar it will last a long time. The same company makes red hots which are the same thing only they are a little bigger than a bratwurst in size. I love the stuff.

Stephiegirl,
This sounds like something entirely regional. Whereabouts in Michigan is it found? I can conceive of heading to Kalamazoo eventually, so I'll look for it there.
Some of these local sausage makers only distribute to two or three counties because they only make so much and that's it. Where do you find it?
Reminds me of Frank Corriher's Livermush, which is ubiquitous on store shelves in Cabarrus and Rowan Counties of North Carolina, very spottily available in Charlotte and Lexington, and practically unfindable elsewhere. "We not but just so big and don't work but just so many hours a week," Frank Corriher once said. The last I heard, he was still Chairman Of The Board there, and he must surely be 90 or above.
Great scott, is their Hot Livermush better than anyone else's! I wish I had me some right about now, cracker or no!

Papa, Alouette makes a killer garlic cheese spread, and there is usually one in my house.
In addition to putting it on crackers-(which I also love the Club ones),, I also toast some bread and use it as a spread for a rockin' fresh sliced tomato sandwich.

Allouette is great on garlic bagel chips. I guess those could qualify as a type of cracker.

Alouette's garlic cheese spread is great spooned straight from the container!!

I like to make little peanut butter sandwiches with them. I also like to crumble them into Lipton's chicken soup.

Sardines packed with oil and green chiles, topped with a ring of sweet onion (preferably Noonday), and a slice of pickled jalapeno.
Also, homemade pimento cheese, made with finely chopped green olives.

I almost forgot about that one!

Hummus and a slice of cucumber and more hummus

Goat cheese and a half walnut and some honey drizzled on top

Crumbled blue cheese with some chopped apple on top

A banana slice with chooped nuts smooshed in

Depends, of course, on the type of cracker.

Sweet Cream Butter, NO!! SALT!!! There is enough on the cracker. Goes well with tomato soup. Also like bleu cheese, and olive loaf. Cheese Wiz, and pickled okra.

I'm currently enjoying a couple of items I brought home from recent trips. Cherry butter from The Cherry Hut in Beulah, Michigan and huckleberry preserves I bought at The Pike Place Market in Seattle. And both are delicious!

Hold the phone!!!!!

All the things I mentioned earlier that I would put on Saltines -- sardines, Vienna sausage, cheese, summer sausage, venison salami, trail bologna -- I would now also put on Ritz Roasted Vegetable crackers. In fact, I'd put them on these Ritz crackers more often that I'd put them on Saltines.I love these new (to me) things.
