What I miss most on Roadfood

The new layout has likes and dislikes and that is common when ever there is a change in format. Fair enough! a lot of hard work has gone into upgrading the Roadfood web site. For the most part I like the changes. But what I miss most on the restaurant reviews, is the price paid for various meals. Meal price is important to travelers.

Hmmmm! 76 views and not one comment. I guess, not knowing meal prices is not a concern.

I should have commented when I saw this earlier but to me a restaurant review without the prices is incomplete and leaving out a critical part of the review. I would hate to show up at a place for their "succulent" hamburger based on a review and find out it was $29.95. Having said that our local newspaper restaurant reviews never include specific prices, usually just a range like $10-20. Recently they reviewed what basically sounded like a sports bar which had some seafood dishes and the only comment about price was "All entrees are priced under $30. I would hope so.

I suspect a $29 burger reviewed here on RF would be so noted. Any exceptional prices (low or high) I suspect would be noted. They'd need a staff to keep prices up to date. Time passes quickly. I'd rather have a wider array of reviews than many removed because pricing hadn't been confirmed.

I don't think they would need to keep all the prices up to date. Just note the prices at the time the review was done.

Even a price range by symbols would be helpful, and would seldom be necessary to update. For example for an entree (or maybe a meat-and-three): $ = under $10 $$ = $10 - $20 $$$ = $20 - $30 $$$$ = $30 to $40 $$$$$ = over $40

I think the symbols would be a good idea if advertising a restaurant but when a person is writing about the meal they had....why not through in the price they paid at the time. It is a no brainer as far as a review goes; essential to the persons experience.

As long as it is an official Roadfood place I have to visit it at least once no matter the price. For really expensive places, like Peter Luger's, the reviews warn us.
