I've been fighting a nasty cold the past few day so I've planned something easy for today. This is what I plan to grill this afternoon. I will post the results later.

What time should we be there?? :) Anybody know who makes King's Hot Dogs for them? I haven't seen those before, but I hardly ever go to King's.

Ken, this the first time I've seen them. It doesn't say on the package who makes them just that they are distributed by Kings. They are a pork/beef blend and the package states they are "German Style". I always like to try new items like this. We're lucky that here in NJ we have so many options.

Looks like a great assortment! Here in Madison, WI we are into the last day of the "World's Largest Brat Fest". As of this morning they had sold over 167,000 Johnsonville Brats since Friday. The goal is 200,000 by close tonight. I ate three yesterday and am done. Check out the site at... http://www.bratfest.com/

Baah Ben A BC BBQ! Have a great time.... My neighbor puts those Johnsonville brats in simmering beer after he takes them off the bbq..Pretty good. Thanks, Ben. I know there has been a recent thread about whether or not to simmer the brats first and then grill or grill without simmering. I have tried both and prefer to grill without simmering but holding them in some beer would be worth a try if my son doesn't inhale most of them first(he's 14 and almost 6 feet tall). I might have a chance, though, Weiss Wurst has always been a favorite of his and I'm cooking them too!

We only recently discovered Johnsonville Brats and love them. I buy their breakfast links also.

Ken, I think they are made by Lutz's Pork Store in Union. When I was at Lutz's I was told that King's carries their hot dogs. I think it is even mentioned on Lutz's website. Last time I was at King's I didn't see anything labelled Lutz's. I believe what was pictured here is made for King's under a private label agreement.

John, Yes Kings does carry Lutz' hot dogs, which I like but you have to purchase a 3 or 4 pound package. After grilling the Kings dog, yes, I believe they are Lutz' or at least very similar. here are my results... I split the Hungarian Brats and really crisped them up. My Daughter Katie & son Kyle's favorite way. The bottome two dogs are skinless Sabretts. My middle daughter Emily does not like natural casing dogs(or pizza, I might add! I Know!). My son Kyle's plate, Veggies, Kyle, Veggies! Anyway, It all tasted great. and I am relaxing on the couch watching TV. I start work tomorrow at 6:30am. To bed early! BTW my thanks to everyone who has given their life for our country. And a special thanks to my nephew Timmy who is now in Iraq and Andy who serves in the National Guard!

The family hasn't returned from shopping yet so I don't know what I'll be grilling, but my wife was talking about brats (probably Klement's or Usinger's) and burgers earlier today. Whatever they decide, I hope it turns out as well as yours did. Brad EDIT: They just walked in with Klement's brats, Klement's "Truly Chicago" hot dogs, a pound of 93% lean ground beef (bacon fat will fix that), and a package of boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Looks like I'll need to fire up the 26" Weber.

Brad, You're lucky to have access to Usinger's wonderful products. And Klement's. Enjoy. Agnesrob, Nice pictures. I think I'll have some beer and dogs. Second time today for the dogs. But I have a lot of Sahlen's left. And it's Memorial Day. I too would like to thank those who have given their lives for our country. God bless America.

Wow, I'm honored, the mad flagger has deemed my original post as inappropriate. I have always felt mostly ignored on this board but someone has noticed! What's your problem with my message? Wrong forum? Grammar? Spelling? You hate hotdogs, saugage? What???

Great report and very APPROPRIATE pictures for this holiday. Thanks so much for sharing. Also, my thanks to your relatives who serve our country and to all those who have done so much in service of our land. What many have done for our country and what many continue to do is a lot more important than debating where a post belongs. Thanks again.

I don't believe I'll look at another brat until next year and will detour the sausage aisle on my grocery trips. (not really)

I grilled pounded chicken breasts in the George Foreman. I then covered them in Roadhouse BBQ sauce & put them on buns from Fuzzy the baker in Sheboygan doncha know. I rubbed them with Penzey's medium chili powder first.
