What Is Your Favorite Fruit?

Picked fresh at the peak of ripeness?
Strawberrys picked fresh are very good.
But my favorite is the Perfect Pear.

Russ is right on; ripe strawberries fresh from the fields are great, as are local ripe peaches, but nothing beats a perfectly ripened pear - especially when accompanied by a nicely ripened cheese - like Limburger. Not to get too picky, but I prefer Bartlett, Anjou, and Bosc in that order for eating fresh and home ripened.

    Cheers, John

My favorite fruit are cherries anyway you can have them. I always have a package of dried cherries handy. I will have to second Al on the Honeycrisp apple created just three miles directly south of my home at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum and most likely a descendant of apple trees that once grew on my property when it was part of the Minnesota State Fruit Farm over 100 years ago.

    Very, very ripe white peaches
    Very ripe mango
Sweet oranges (not a sour one)
Sweet, juicy pears (some seem dry with little or no taste to me)
    Watermelon, cantelopes, honeydews

    I've never tried a fruit I didn't like

    ...you get the idea

fresh, wild handpicked strawberries from a field where you wouldn't expect to find berries at all. As a kid growing up in upstate NY, we had a field not too far from our house where the berries grew sweet and delicious. The berries they sell today just can't even come close to the flavor those little sweet ones had way back then.

    Hello All,
Tomatoes is what I have daily,
    but as a special treat...
Bing Cherries, when they are in season,
Tangerines in the winter, (especially around Christmas)
Watermelon and cantelopes in the heat of summer,
slices of avocadoes with Dr. Pepper anytime.
I believe I had the misfortune of growing up when
candy replaced fruits as a sweet treat for young people.
    Take Care,

For a few brief weeks in August, Moriello's orchard here in New Paltz has White Peaches- we can usually get some that have not been chilled and they are delicious. But the perfecly ripened pear is stillmy favorite.
