RE: What? Nobody does Denny's?!

Cosmos It never fails to amaze me that no matter what Denny's I eat in (and I try not to make a habit out of it), they have a complete inability to cook the hash browns...It kills me...the potato is shredded so it will cook faster, yet everytime I eat at a Dennys I get this tan colored lump of warm raw potato shreds...The rest...eggs, sausage, whatever, has always been just fine. I never do pancakes out due to my exterme loyalty to real maple syrup...I can't ruin a good pancake or waffle with that corn syrup crap. Tell them to burn them. There was a time when we ate breakfast there weekly, and that was my successful solution.

I would rather starve than eat at Denny's. I had one to many bad meals at that place. They seem to have the market cornered on dirt and bad service.

db1105 I would rather starve than eat at Denny's. I had one to many bad meals at that place. They seem to have the market cornered on dirt and bad service. That sounds rather harsh. You would die before you ate at Denny's? Obviously you have never been hungry. I guess it may be where you are at. My brother and I race at Pomona annually and when we can afford it, we race twice. Once in February and another in November. We stay at a Residence Inn in Ontario and close by there is a Denny's. We are on east coast time and we are early risers. There is a huge time difference in California and while on the east coast, we arise at least 4:00AM. We do not adjust easily to time changes and our biological clocks insist that we awake at our normal time which in California was around 1:00AM. We are hungry at that hour and we went to Denny's which was close and open at that hour. We always had a super breakfast and we found it not dirty nor bad service. I chose not to starve as that was and would not be a wise decision. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

In the past three years we have only visited a Denny's twice. Both times we after a very late arrival at the Louisville airport. The only place open on our way home, tired and very travel-worn and somewhat hungry, was the Denny's in Clarksville,IN. One of their breakfast orders was quick, hot and served with a smile. There were both Waffle House and White Castle's open also but they were several miles out of the way, and that did not fit our desired plan. Denny's works at times !

I see from your location that you live in the metro. Are you not a native? The reason I ask is that the Denny's on Crittenden Drive is just up the road from the airport, way more entertaining, and not really out of the way. I've never had a bad experience there (which I can't say about the C-ville store) and the floor show can be quite amusing, especially after the bars let out.
