What Type of Holiday Candy Do you Like to Be Given

Hello All, With the holidays coming, boxes of candy are an easy and good gift to give to fellow-workers, casual friends, or members of family that have a special candy that is a holiday treat or holds a special memory or place in their hearts. My father loved getting peanut-butter brittle at Christmas. I love chocolate-covered cherries (Brach's my preference), and a brother of mine loves a carmel-coated popcorn barrel. What about you? Not what you give, but what do you like to be given to you? Take Care, Fieldthistle

Nothing very fancy. Personally I like the Reeses peanut butter cup holiday variations. The easter egg has the perfect peanut butter to chocolate ratio (not enough peanut butter in the standard candy bar for me). At Christmas they do a nice tree shape. Those usually fill my stocking along with Snickers chocolate soldiers. My family is more into nuts at the holidays. Its about the only time of year when we gorge on cashews with wild abandon, then we go back to cringing at the prices for the rest of the year. Vayo con queso

I always give my DH a chocolate orange in his stocking. Company's name is the same as his! I hint that I'd like to get a chocolate raspberry, but it hasn't worked yet. I like chocolate peppermint bark at this time of year, too. Cathy

I love to receive homemade peanut brittle and/or fudge. Also, decorated sugar cookies are special to receive, as they're something I rarely take the time to make. They take time to do, and I feel good knowing that someone spent time on them with my family in mind. My kids and I look forward to a giant Hershey bar in our stockings each year. Cindy

Boxed chocolates from Whitmans or russel stover (nuts and chews please) Lindt truffles Harry and David's Moose Munch See's peanut brittle and, for nostalgia, 1 box of ribbon candy These are my faves but I'll take chocolate in just about any form. The darker the better.

Hello All, Michael, I am sending you a cyber box of chocolate covered cherries. They are as useful as cyber-sex. I am awaiting your cyber-bomb at my doorsteps. Take Care, Fieldthistle P.S. Michael, be careful with that cyber-bomb, we don't want it going off on the internet and causing other people's computer to blow up.

My sister always sends me and my wife Chocolate Covered Brownies (they are very good) from Swiss Colony, being from a large family in both number of people and size of people we divide them up right away. They usually come with Chocolate Truffles they are not as good as Lindt Chocolate truffles but they are pretty good never the less. Usually when I give Chocolate it is usually Lindt.

Many years back My Mom would receive a large box o SEES Chocolates for Christmas. When my Step-father passed away, I took up the task and included it in my Xmas 'do-list'. When we moved East I found that using the Internet, Sees will construct an assortment containing those particular flavors that the customer wants, or take the usual mix they will do automatically. W E L L, Using their selection guide, I made some great combinations of her favorites that were received with great glee by Mother. Last Xmas Mom passed away on Dec.17, and they (UPS) attempted to deliver the package as requested on the 19th. It was forwarded to us just before the first of the year. We took all winter to nibble our way thru those chocolates ! I would like to see a box like that arrive in time for the Xmas season, to keep alive the tradition and the memory of those special feelings that came with the candy. Maybe I can talk Janet into playing Internet Mrs. Santa this year!! Sees gift boxes of Chocolates are outstanding!!

Mr. Mayor. I am with you all the way, getting at least 1 box of Sees for Christmas is a tradition with me. I also love their peanut brittle, it is the finest I have found. Sorry to hear about your mother, mine passed away 6 years ago, and whenever I see a box of holiday cordial cherries, I think of her.

I was sent a box of SEES chocolates last year at work. Very unlike Fannie May for sure. Actually just a good quality Christmas ribbon candy "anise etc" keeps my holiday memories alive.

Had some See's in Vegas pretty good, but there is a place in Bennington Vermont called The Vermont Confectionary. http://www.vermontcandy.com/ The people who run the place are exactly what you would expect from a Mom and Pop place in Vermont stereotypical if you will. They may be the friendlist store owners I ever met. I stop in there all the time on my many shopping and senic drives through Vermont. The store is on the left side maybe 1 or 2 miles from the Vermont/NY border as you enter Vermont heading East on Route 7 from NYS.

Memories, memories:.. My mom used to make home made divinity and buck eyes.... I remember standing in the kitchen on a step stool and putting toothpicks into the peanut butter mix and dunking them into the melted chocholate to make those delicious buckeyes! I cant even count how many didnt make it to the other people, because they ended up in my tummy instead! How bout some buckeyes for me, Santa? I promise, I been real good this year!

Fieldthistle, I got so caught up in the Sees candy memories that I ordered some for my wife (hehehe ). You can internet order at www.sees.com I like the "make your own assortment" option. Love those Buttercreams!

My favorite in NECCO's "Peach Blossoms". They are peachy only in color. But they are a hard shell filled with peanut butter. Try them before turning up your nose. Walt

Ever heard of Ethel M's? They are a candy factory out in LAS VEGAS. They give a wonderful tour of the factory and make the best candy Liquers. I just love the Kaluah spelling? All of the varieties are good. My mom just loves the dark chocolate lemon cream!
