Second on Bazbeaux - very unique place! We went to the downtown location, but there's one in Broad Ripple as well.

Stefanos just off of 116th st exit at I-69 is reputed to be very good NY style pizza - I want to try it the next time I'm in Indy.

Luca Pizza DiRoma in malls has very good tasting pizza by the slice if you get it freshly made - better than Sbarros.

Third on Bazbeaux, can't go wrong there, especially with the garlic pesto cheese bread and the Quattro Formaggio and the BBQ chicken....
Eh Formaggio! (yes, the ! is part of the name) is also outstanding. NY style--the owner/cook is actually from NYC, and uses a woodburning oven, and you can fold the slices in half. It's on Lafayette Rd, just south of 56th St.

Here is one that I would like to suggest..

              Some Guys
              Pizza Pasta Grill

              someguyspizza.com

The main difference between the two locations is that the allisonville road location has an option of a "Wood Fired" Oven as well as conventionally baked.

The Lasagna is also VERY Good.

I do not live in Indy but travel there often and this one is my Favorite.

              My Favorite creation there is,

Thin crust with Goat Cheese, Mozzarella, White Cheddar, Sausage and Red Onions.

ps, I also second the "Bazbeaux" recommendations.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Puccini's Smiling Teeth Pizza (check out http://www.puccinissmilingteeth.com). I went there back in 2000 at the suggestion of a cousin who lived in the area--it was pretty good. Unfortunately I don't get to Indy that much nowadays, at least not for a sit-down pizza, even when I live less than 100 miles away.

Baxbeaux has a location downtown on Mass Ave. and I'll throw in another vote for their pizza. Iaria's pizza isn't bad but I really don't like their food otherwise.

Southside has the new BJ's Brewhouse at Greenwood Park Mall. It's a chain restaurant (not just a pizza joint) but they have a very good deep pan pizza and they brew their own beer and root beer.

Southeast in Wanamaker is the New Bethel Ordinary. I would compare their pies to Union Jack... lots of cheese, very thick and very tasty.

                        1. Bazbeaux Pizza on Mass Ave. and in Broadripple.
                        2. Some Guys Pizza on Allisonville.
                        3. Jockamo Upper Crust on E. Washington in Irvington
                        4. WB Pizza on Allisonville Rd

Jockamo opened in October 2007, and is owned by someone who worked at Bazbeaux for something like 15 years. It is similar, but also very different. I like Bazbeaux a little better, but live within walking distance from Jockamo...so I go there much more often.

I used to really like Taylor Made pizza, but sadly it went out of business earlier this year.

One more I forgot about on the south side is Brozini's (County Line Rd. & Emerson, by Kroger). They owners are originally from NY and make a damn fine NY-style pie.

2-plus years later I stumbled onto this thread because my fiancee and I were looking for somewhere to eat before a hockey game at Pepsi Coliseum, and we decided to try Bazbeaux's.

I've got to say it was one of the best pizzas and best orders of garlic bread I've ever had, and I grew up in suburban Chicago.

Thanks a lot to those you who recommended it. We actually went to another hockey game in Indy for an excuse to go back.
