"SPACE" by James Mischener. Amazing how it contrasts from "The Right Stuff" ! Both are rereads for me, after several years of ignoring them and NASA. We certainly have come a long way since the days of the Moon-shots.

Currently I'm reading "Barnaby Rudge" (1841) by Charles Dickens. It's one of Dickens' lesser known works, about the riots in England in 1780. Last month I read James Fenimore Cooper's "The Pathfinder" (1840). The first third was pretty good, but the last two-thirds was pretty much a soap opera interspersed with a little action.

Shock Wave, John Sanfords latest, I love his books...This one features Virgil Flowers, I love his Lucas Davenport carachter as well! Finished "The Affair" late last week, Reacher is da man, Lee Child can describe a really beautiful woman, and a serious azz kicking, with equal gusto!

Dearfolk, Recently finished are two books by Phillip Lee Williams ("Slow Dance In Autumn" was one; I don't remember the other. After that, "Heart Trouble" by Kathy Hogan Trocheck. I just finished "Fast Food Nation" (don't remember author's name). Now I go home to work on "The Great Plains" by another author whose name I've forgotten because I'm becoming senile. But I can still read. Wholeheartedly, Ort.

A phenomenal non-fiction that I bought at an airport bookstore of all places. "Destiny Of The Republic" by Candice Millard. Ostensibly about the assassination of James A Garfield but ait covers so many other areas of history as well. I can hardly put it down.
