Downton Abbey - series finale

Top Chef CA - I don't usually watch this, but one of the contestants is Isaac Toups, owns Toups' Meatery restaurant in NOLA, so am rooting for the home boy.

Fargo - I requested season 1 from our local library branch

TCM 30 Days of Oscar - taping the ones of interest.  It's a good time to watch, not just movies that won acting awards but other categories like screenplay, cinematography, etc.

I got Amazon Prime to watch season 1 of BOSCH. I figured I could watch season 1 during the trial period and cxl it after one month. Then I started to feel like the people I hate. The people that buy a new suit on Friday for the important date then return it on Monday because they didn't like it. Needless to say I now have Amazon Prime. Along with watching BOSCH I also watched Hand of God,Mozart in the Jungle, Mad Dogs and The Man in the High Castle. If you like War movies "The Pacific" and "Band of Brothers" are well worth watching. I also got one year of Netflix when I signed up for DISH network. I Had Dish then Cable then Direct TV then Cable then Direct tv again then Cable and now back to Dish. I have so many old satellite dishes on my house it looks like the space station. I don't need to explain why I had so many services, you already know. With Netflix original series I watched Breaking Bad, Longmire, Orange is the next black,Lilyhammer, Bloodline, The Killing, Master of None,Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and Narcos. There is something about being able to watch a whole series or season at one time. It hooks you in to whats going on and you have to watch the next segment or episode. I started watching each one of these series thinking I'll watch one and see what it's about. Big mistake, over and over again I'm hooked. I don't only watch them but now I can't wait for the next season to start. I remember the day our family got our first color tv all the kids in the neighborhood came over to see it. Now everyone in the house has iPads, iPhones, laptops along with 5 tvs. I try to stay grounded. In my back room of the house nestled in my lazyboy recliner and wood burning stove. I have a 60" 4k Ultra SUHD SMART LED 2160 resolution 240 Motion rate with 4 HDMI Ports wireless LAN. I remember the day when someone stood up in the room and everyone said change the channel and while your up get me a beer on the way back.

That's because we have basic cable and two basic TVs.

I already have my DVR set for "The People v. O.J. Simpson" which premieres February 2 on FX.  Maybe he'll get 'convicted' this time.

Kozel, I went from a 32" flat screen to a 60." I thought the 32" was fine until I got the 60" now I don't know how the heck I ever watched the 32". It's like sitting in my chair at the drive in movie.

I guess we're not too much into TV.  The "big one" in the living room is a 38" flat screen.  The little one (13") in the computer room has a picture tube in it but works fine!  We have basic cable.  Fine with me.

WHY??????????

To build your own, possibly limitless library totally independent of your provider.
The HD PVR 2 will capture the content.
The 5TB drive will store the content.
PLEX will organize, catalog & play the content.
Add ViedoReDo to edit the content (can you say, remove commercials?) http://www.videoredo.com/en/index.htm

You are not limited to your TV, they play on tablets & phones via wifi or copy the content to a micro SD drive to take when you travel.  Don't like the in flight movie, I carry about 7 movies on my phone at any one time.
