Michael Hoffman GBaxter7 No I'm a proprietor seeking customer input. This is a specific fast food franchise - non roadside food board, so sue me if you dislike the post. I don't dislike the post. I merely offered my opinion. If you have a problem with that, you sue me.

Customer input: I go to the ones that don't skimp on the sandwich fillings. Favorites are the jalapenos, the banana peppers, and the spices. The cheese is terrible. We have a new mom and pop sub shop here and Subway is sub-standard compared to it so the local mom and pop gets my business when I'm in town. My advice: don't skimp because customers quickly realize which Subways are skimpy and which aren't. I'm on the road a lot and I know which Subways in my area to avoid. Andrea

tommyeats saps Whoops. Wrong thread. I was looking for another one too, but I decided to post also. This always happens when I stumble onto the wrong thread. err, i wasn't looking for another thread, stumbled on this one, and posted anyway, as you seem to be suggesting with your childish attempt at sarcasm. i was intending to post on another thread which i've also been following, and posted on this one accidently. as there's no 'delete' function that i can see, i figured i'd just blank out my comment, removing the non-germane post (a concept you might want to consider). i then figured i'd point out that you all have such awesome taste, and are able to illustrate this so well by sh*tting on the taste of others. so many concepts seem so very difficult to posters here. i've never seen such a thing. This is the most unwelcoming board I've ever seen.

I wouldn't eat Subway sandwiches if they were free. Other than that, they're pretty good.

One of my Grandzillas likes a pepperoni footlong w/ black olives, pickles, and mayo. She can eat two footlongs... and a bag of chips. Joe

I don't like Subway either except for the bread. The bread is good. The rest of the crap they sell I can go to the supermarket and buy and make myself. I think probably that some neighborhood Subways are better than others and some franchisees do a good job and offer the best product they can under the strict rules of the franchise contract. Like I said, Subway is basically a clone of every other one. The bread is good. However, like everyone else has said, the rest of it is crap. It also sits on my stomach like a tumor for a day and my breath smells awful. They also sell those weird brownie things and tiny bags of potato chips I don't want. My location is "Bucksnort Tn." for some odd reason, but I actually live in Hangzhou, P.R. China. Here, about six locations of Subway has opened up in the city and they are staying open. They all have different owners and whatnot. It is exactly the same as in the West. The foreigners here seem to like the product very much, but I haven't been in one in months. Once every "blue moon" I'll want one, only to remember why I don't go in there that much. A 12 inch there costs 42 RMB (the prices are all the same although they are all seperate owners) which comes out to about $6 USD. Too. f'ing. expensive. Basically, Subway is the Pizza Hut of the sandwich trade. High markup, too expensive and not that great. Lastly, Jered Fogel is the biggest liar of all time. There is no way that anyone can eat Subway everyday and lose weight. Unless it was a 6 inch veggie with no condiments and about 5 miles of brisk walking a day.

Senor, try eating a footlong like I described above... for a month and then let us know. My Grandzilla is 21 now and is still skiney as a rail. :~) Joe Oh, and she eats 2 footlongs at a sitting. And oh... w/ a bag of chips.

NYPIzzaNut The bread is good? I can only guess you were personally traumatized - yet again - by biting into a Subway sandwich? You poor man, it is a wonder you eat anything not made by your own hands

Unless it was a 6 inch veggie with no condiments and about 5 miles of brisk walking a day. Not so. Choose turkey, ham or roast beef, or any combination of them. No cheese, mayonnaise or oil. No mayo/oil-based sauces. Been there, done that, lost the pounds.

A Quick reminder here to several Members who seem to have forgotten their manners... There is a difference between making negative comments about food or places that serve it, and making comments about the opinions of others with whom you apparently disagree. Mind your manners folks, or the evil deletion button will strike !

Once again an old thread was brought back from the dead and stirred up trouble... Living in a rural area like I do I have very limited options other then chains. Especially late at night when headed for work. I do stop at the local Subway 1 or twice a month. I usually order the feast. It has a variety of "meat" I add lettuce, tomato, spinach, jalapenos to it.

PapaJoe8 One of my Grandzillas likes a pepperoni footlong w/ black olives, pickles, and mayo. She can eat two footlongs... and a bag of chips. As Roy Clark sang, "Yesterday, when I was young..." On the rare occasion I stop at a Subway I'll usually get a footlong Spicy Italian with black olives, mustard, oil, vinegar, Italian dressing, salt, pepper, oregano, and grated cheese topping. And then I'll be thirsty all afternoon. Brad

When we do the Subway thing (now and then) Janet likes the grilled Chicken with 'everything'. I usually do a 'Club' with Tomato, all of the pepper varieties, onion, and black olives, then use the onion sauce dressing to lube the whole thing.

sk bob good as compared to what? roofing shingles? I just looked up this Subway chipotle cheesesteak (I don't believe they're offering it here) and found a blog by someone who tried it, not expecting to like it . He said it was quite good, but that there was little, if any, chipotle taste. And he said for those not able to get a Phildelphia cheesesteak it wouldn't be a bad idea to try this thing. http://mccheesesteak.blogspot.com/2009/07/subways-chipotle-cheesesteak.html

stricken_detective Spinach, because I hate lettuce. Black Olives, because who doesn't like black olives? You and I are of opposite opinions on that (both counts).
