If it's cold and hoppy and vaguely gold colored...it works for me! My friends like to rib me (no pun intended) whenever I have them over for a BBQ party cos I use beer or whisky in just about everything. For instance, I have Jack and Woodchuck in the sauce I make. As for a beer, I typically default to something Miller as my all purpose beer. Other stuff that tends to show at at our Q's are Red Stripe, Sam Adams, Harpoon, and the obligatory Bud Light.

Hogwash... No such beer by that name, but if I had the $, I'd make it just for BBQ's !

Hamms, P. Blue Ribbon, or Schlitz....maybe a Blatz if it's nice and cold. Old Milwalkee is always a crowd pleaser as is Grain Belt.

Something light and icy cold- Warsteiner or Rolling Rock. Quart size Mason jars with lemonade or unsweetened tea are both acceptable as well. So much to eat and drink- so little time!

Funny note: I was watching the "American Eats" show centered around BBQ the other day, and they showed a group of people having white wine with their 'que. Kinda like ordering the diet coke with the Big Mac if you ask me.

Schlitz or Strohs, salted. That's what all the menfolk in my family would stand around and drink while Q-in. Me, I like High Life when lazing around the grill...I save the fancier beer for fancier occasions.

Watching the scale these days, so I would have to say I'll resort to Michelob Ultra Light in the bottle this Memorial Day....in a large cooler with a lot of ice sprinkled with rock salt......
