BelleReeve, I second that Community New Orleans blend. I also like the Cafe' Du Monde brand.

Master Chef, $5.28 per 33 oz can. A Walmart brand.

For years we (wife & I) used Maxwell House.  Then changed to Folders dark roast.   ... About 2 years ago now when coffee prices were going through the roof, I saw a lady load her cart with 6 or 8 cans of Master Chef from the store shelf.   ... Folders was in short supply, so we tried the Master Chef and been drinking it since.

Of late I have been using only my Keruig and I am very partial to Caribou, Tully's house blend and HEB's Kona.

My fav New Orleans brand - Cafe du Monde. (coffee with chicory)

While I love love love Whole Foods, you get ripped off there trying to buy coffee.  Cafe du Monde goes for $10/can.
Online you can get it for about $6.25.
An Asian grocer near me sells it for $4.25.  Same.  Exact.  Can.

              Pays to shop around.

Oh good to know, I'll have to take a little look-see.

My understanding is the whole New Orleans coffee+chicory thing started in the civil war when supplies of just about everything ran lean.  Some enterprising bright soul knew roasted chicory had a very coffee like flavor and used it to extend what limited supplies thay had.  As the war, and the years slid by, and even post war supplies were lean, people just got used to the flavor.  Then not only got used to it, desired it, never went back.
