<<I have no problem picking the worst. It was the '77 Dodge Aspen, the first new car that I ever owned. The Aspen was the "twin sister" to the Plymouth Volare that Brad mentioned, and both cars were among the worst pieces of crap ever to come off of an American assembly line.>>
Holy Crap! I earlier posted about my favorite cars I owned (3 VW Beetles in the 70's). Then in 1979 I inherited a 1977 Aspen (Brown yet) when my uncle died and left me his car in his will.
It was only 2 yrs old with only about 10,000 miles on it, so I gave up my 6 year old VW with 75,000 miles on it. Worst mistake ever! Worst car ever! Plus, as a still single 30 year old, it had zero, I repeat, ZERO, sex appeal.
Somehow my girlfriend at the time tolerated this change of cars (jokingly nicknaming it "The Car" after a movie that was out at the time). Two years later I married her, at least in a little part because she was the type of girl who would take in stride the fact that her boyfriend traded a VW Beetle for an Aspen. First thing I did was get rid of that godawful Aspen for her sporty Datsun (we were in Brooklyn, we didn't need two cars).
Thanks for the memory!
