What car you owned was your favorite?

I have owned and driven a lot of cars---starting with a 1929 Model A Ford. 
My favorite is a toss up -----a 1974 Buick Regal---lovely car that I bought my wife
And a 1988 Ford Victoria Station Wagon (last one they made) with all the bells and whistles, that I bought for myself.
 
Loved 'em both.
 
Had a Mustang, a Saab, an Audi, a Dodge, a few Chevys, an Olds and lot of Fords, plus a few others, but they were just cars----the 2 mentioned above were----LOVES. 
 
Women are allowed to participate although they think of cars in a different light.

My favorite didn't last long as it started falling apart after just four years.  It was my very conservative 1984 Toyota Cressida.  It was fun to drive because you DROVE it.
 
That was followed by a 1990 2 door Acura Legend.  Smooth to drive and it could turn circles in a narrow street, not that I'd ever have a reason to do that.  Drove that 14 years until it, too needed too much work.
 
Had a couple prior to those and one that I'm driving now which I won't include because I really don't or didn't like them.
 

Had a '72 Dodge Dart Swinger - kind of a toned-down version of this "junior muscle car" with metallic bronze paint, vinyl top, cloth bench seat, a 318 4-bbl V8, and those cool steel wheels. So, more-than-decent power and elegance. Wish I still had it; am still wanting an early model Dart/Valiant of some sort.

1993 Ford Taurus Sho. Smooth running car, wonderful pick up, and all the bells and whistles.I Loved that car.

1952 (might have been a '53 or '54) Studebaker the Raymond Lowey design, red, two door. Loved that car.
Brakes were awful, couldn't get out of its own way, couldn't keep the front wheels in line, uncomfortable bucket type seats, windshield wiper rarely worked, etc.,etc. One day, driving east on the Connecticut Turnpike, she threw a crank right thru the side of the engine, I coasted down a ramp and into a junkyard. The guy gave me $50 and a ride to Mystic, where I was attending a School for the Summer... But I loved that car...
 
Since about 1989 we've owned or leased a series of Fords - new car every 3 years, no repairs, no parts, no recalls - just pay the monthly lease,  gas-up  and drive trouble free. I think we're on our fifth Taurus and I have no complaint about any of them. But I never loved any of them like the old Studabaker...

My 1985 Trans Am,, How I miss her. I helped Jeg's bottom line in the 1990's. My gosh how the car would fly...

My current 2005 Ford Supercrew F150 truck is the best riding and most comfortable car/truck I have ever owned. It is the second of this model I have owned and will be replaced in a year or so with a new version of the same vehicle. Smooth ride, 4x4 as needed, can haul us and all we want to carry, and reliable as can be.
  A close second was our '96 Avalon (Toyota).

First car I owned was also my favorite, a 1971 Toyota Corolla station wagon, 4speed on the floor transmission.  i loved that car and drove it for a long time, wrecked it several times, and had so much fun in that car.  It was the only foreign car I owned until I bought a Volvo a couple years ago.

Nissan Pathfinder, I forget what year but it was in the 90's.  Sold it for $1,000 with 287,000 miles on it.  I only changed the timing belt twice and the only thing wrong with it when I sold it was the A/C.

One of my friends had a Study like yours ---never knew which way he was facing.  $50 in those days was big money.  You could have stayed in Mystic and opened a hot dog stand and be a celeb on Roadfood.  Your alias would bring you instant fame and fortune.  ----------Mystic's own Seafarer John's Dogs. 

We were living in Clinton Connecticut that Summer and we lived on the fish Gail caught most days in the Sound. Porgys and more porgys, a few tautog, and late in the season a few weakfish - they were all very fresh and delicious. And we drove her 1958 big blue Buick convertible for the rest of the Summer. No time for a hotdog cart...

My first car was my favorite, a 1949 TR3 that my dad and I restored when I was 18 in 1964. I loved to drive it around with the top off in the winter and show off! The problem was I couldn't get much in it for my trips back and forth to college 200 miles away so I got a 1966 Mustang, brand new, that wasn't a whole lot bigger but I could at least have more than 1 friend ride with me.

In my twenties (1970's) I owned a series of Volkswagen Beetles (a used 67, a used 68, and a new 73). It may have just been that this period corresponded with my "heyday" , i.e. my 20's, but I look back at those cars and only remember fun and good times.
 
BTW, their reputation as being Trouble Free was hooey. Seems like it was always something with those cars. What they were, however, was easy to work on and repair, even for a mechanical incompetent like myself.  
 
 

My first car ever was a 1949 Volkswagen Beetle. There were only two in the United States imported by an Indianapolis car dealer one year before they were officially imported. I bought it in 1959 for $100 and was the fourth owner. I drove it home (illegally at the age of 15) and never drove it again. I could not afford to replace the engine with a cracked block and busted crankshaft. I did however completely restore the body. When I went away to college I moved it to my parents' backyard. Later I got a call from my Dad that he had a buyer and in a weak moment I acceded to his wishes and sold it. I regret that decision.
 
My first new car was a 1966 Corvair.

It's a tossup, I'd have to pick my 1952 Aston Martin DB2, just barely, over my '52 MG TD.

We also bought a VW Beetle, used, well used, in 1964. It had the split rear window and not a whole lot else.

Heat, you want heat in the winter? Forget it, all it did was freeze up the windshield. The passenger had a full time job of scraping the windshield,,, inside. 

In the summer the windshield wiper ran,  some of the time, making for some interesting moments.

We drove that thing many, many miles and had a blast doing it. One time my husband got it up to 80 miles/ hr, going  down a very long curvy hill in W. Va, he was thrilled,

I was terrified the tires would come off !

We drove it till it literally fell apart, and immediately bought another VW Bug.  Oh, to be young again.

Had a VW Bug----bought it brand spanking new---bright red----loved it.  Had it 6 months when I was totalled on the Long Island Expressway---hit in the motor, which as you remember was in the "Boot".  and shoved sideways into traffic.  The seatbelt---1st time I had one,  saved my life the cops said. 
 
Bought a big, big car next----traveling on the LIEx is not for bugs.

In 1973 I bought a 1972 Daytona Ferrari 365 GTB convertible, it had been part of the John Meacom racing team, Ferrari red, one of the most awsome cars ever built. I still dream about it. I was single, living on the beach in So. Cal., life was sweeeeeeet!
I passed a cop on the PCH, I was going 150, he was going the opposite direction coming out of Manhatten Beach, figure he was going 50, so we passed at 200 mph. He caught me by figuring out that I was headed for a really popular bar/restaurant, Orville and Wilburs, I was sitting in the car talking to my date when he finally pulled up, no ticket, he couldn't prove how fast I was going. True story!

Michael, you had some high-class transportation. 

Well, the MG wsn't high class, even when it was brand new and mine was used, but I guess it would be fair to say that about the Aston Martin -- except I bought it well-used, strictly for racing.

My father wouldn't let me drive it.

The first car I ever bought was a 1984 Chevy Cavalier Type 10 coupe with a 5-speed manual transmission and for the 2 years or so that I owned it it was very reliable and actually pretty fun to drive.  It was a bare-bones model (no A/C, manual locks, manual windows) and I passed it on to my brother when I bought a 1989 GMC S-15 pickup, which is to date the only new vehicle I've ever owned.  The last car we had that was reasonably enjoyable to drive was a 1988 Pontiac 6000 S/E (stiffer suspension made it a good handler) and as the years have passed and kids have grown the cars have become more utilitarian than fun (1995 Lumina sedan, 2001 Impala, 2007 Malibu).
 
Every so often I look around online to see if I can find any of the first 3 above listed for sale.  I wouldn't mind finding a Cavalier or 6000 to use as a daily driver so I can save my battered 4x4 for the winter months.
