the metropolitan is bigger in body size 40x48 where the new yorker is 40x40 from what I can see.

Doesn't it look like the metro has more pans?

Call me stupid, but wouldn't it be better to use their "contact us" page and either call them or email them and ask them the question?

So are you saying I can't ask this question in this forum? It's a legitimate question. Yes I tried to call and email with no response, but that shouldn't matter. If were in a forum setting where people are asking questions I don't see the problem.

ok.. here you gooooo....... the 'new yorker' is a foot wider, giving you some work table space beside the third pans. also, the 'new yorker' has '2' baine maries where the chicago has none. the chicago appears to be constucted with a heavier gauge stainless, but there is no info to substantiate that. i would ask.

I am torn between the metropolitan and new yorker. as I said in a previous post the description says they have the same amount of pans but when you look at the pics of each, it doesn't look like it does. Any thoughts?

My thought would be to ask the folks selling it. We could all guess, but that wouldn't really answer your question.

Any thoughts? I think it's a typo on the New Yorker - it's supposed to be 2 1/3 pans and not 4. I saw both carts when we picked up our 2 Metropolitan models. The New Yorker is much smaller, but does have the two bain maries, which would have been cool. Also, the sink is on the side and the cooler is located in the center of the cart on the New Yorker as opposed to the sink being on the rear and the cooler being over to the right on the Metropolitan. I believe the storage box is smaller on the New Yorker as well.

"Yes I tried to call and email with no response," Then why would you want to do business with them? I own one of their carts and didn't have any trouble making contact and apparently neither did Zombuswoof, who managed to buy 2 of their carts. Maybe the owner is good at making carts but not as good at making websites.

One thing that is hard to ad to a cart is space. I would go with the Metro. Sometimes people get anxious to know answers and I usually get my answers from the people on Roadfood way quicker then any retailer. Maybe Nightshift is just anxious as well.

Thanks for the last response, guess I'm not suppose to ask that question here. LOL. I think I am going to have to go with the Chicago because its more within my price range. When you add shipping and crating to it it adds up. As far as I can tell The Chicago is no different then the New Yorker, since I could not get a hold of them, i called the guy at thehotdogcart which he has the exact same carts with the exact specifications, the two websites must be related somehow possibly. His specifications have the corrections which it didn't before. However on thehotdogcart site and I can't tell any difference between the chicago and the new yorker. Thanks for all the help. I just can't wait to get this cart. 21 days and counting before I get to order.
