What is surrounding you?

Location is important yes. However I would like more specifics. To all of you that have a hot dog cart, describe to me what actually surrounds your carts such as: downtown-courthouse? industrial apts business complex what is special about your location? Have you had your cart in a bad location, what what surrounding it? I have been looking and the places I have seen thus far the traffic zooms too fast.

I'm located on a softball field, which actually sets lower than the road level... so I am pretty restricted to the guys playing and their friends and family members that come to watch. I have a few that come down the hill off the street who know I'm there... but that's it. I think if I ever get to do this full time, I would be looking to a few choice areas in my town (near the city park for example) that are at street level where I could be seen better. For now, the guys are keeping me busy enough... but I know I could do better, and I will in due time.

I am on a fairly busy road. In a gas station and right before a car wash and a Walmart. And it seems to be a pretty good spot. Large property to pull into. I had my first spot on a highway and that was just NOT good!!! I have been there since the end of Nov. so i am still fairly "new", But i am getting a pretty good circle of customers.
