What is the BEST Steak House chain?

I must admit, I love a good steak..when we're on the road we pass so many chains...now I love a bloomin'onion like the next guy, but what is you favorte,,,Outback,Lonestar, or what...AND WHY...which steak in which chain is the best choice for taste and tenderness, since so many of us will frequent them all....your reviews,please

WHO IS THIS GUY THAT LOVES THIS GARBAGE?

For mid-price, Texas Roadhouse. I always get excellent service, they'll cook a steak medium-rare and will get it right without attitude if it's overdone. Good chili, and I like the bread, though not the sweet butter. Call ahead seating works well. And they STILL have the peanuts while you wait. They haven't caved to lawsuit pressure like Lonestar.

For top price, I've never had a bad meal at Ruth's Chris. I always ask for no butter and it's never a problem. I Ruth's Chris is a love it/hate it place, but it's always been very good for me.

used to like Ponderosa and Bonanza, but most of the newer places I just dont care for. Any time a place makes you eat their marinade on their steaks, makes me drive far far away. I dont like ANY kind of marinade, just cook the steak how I like it, if I want something on it, Ill do it myself!

I'd say Ponderosa/Bonanza (Ponderosa is one of my favourites)

We've found Ruby Tuesdays to be quit good for steaks, but find Outback probably has the overall best quality. We prefer Ruby for its smaller portions / typically lower price & generally much less noisy vs. OB. We've not been pleased with two stops at Texas Roadhouse. IMO, Ruth Chris & Mortons of Chicago are just high priced, expense account places - way too large of portions & way over priced, although they do have excellent quality.

KOK,I agree with you on Texas Roadhouse.There's one in Live Oak that's close to me,and have eaten at many times.
never tried Ruth's Chris,but roadhouse is more in my price range.
been to OutBack three times,and I like their Mom's chopped steak,was good.
But my favorite is Texas Roadhouse.Plus it has an added benefit.It's right by the movie theatre and there is also a Cold Stone Creamery in the same area. So I can go to a movie,then eat dinner,and for dessert get icecream all in the same area.Yumm.

I still miss the Western Sizzlin' with the pictures of the steaks on the marquee.

For that matter, who are all you antisocial crabbypants who bother to fight about it?
