What is the Price of a Cord of Wood in Your Area? Fri, 09/12/08 12:57 PM (permalink)
Hello All,
Autumn is approaching and so I am
preparing for winter.
In my area, the Shenandoah Valley,
the price of a cord of wood, usually
oak, is running at $130-$150.
What is the price in your area?
Take Care,
Fieldthistle

Fieldthistle, I just got two cords at $120.00 each, delivered. I thought that was a fair price. The wood was oak and maple.

Last year I waited too long and payed $150.00 per cord and I had to pick it up.

$0.00 for me. I have more wood than I can use so I give it away. Only I don't split it for you.

I just had a huge maple tree cut down and the wood is free for any of my roadfood friends-we have a fire pit( we call it the liars pit) , but no fireplace, so we are just stacking it up.

A "face" cord is a stack 4 feet tall and 8 feet long, but only as wide as the longest log. If the longest log is 16 to 18 inches, the face cord measures about one-third of a standard cord.

I have no idea. But a local guy always advertises his "Romantic Firewood" gauranteed to work. I think it's pretty clever.

                              Hello All,
I feel very lucky. Found a fellow that
will cut my wood to desired length, (13 to 15 inches long)
and all for $95 for a cord, and it is oak.
                              Take Care,

From Central FL...What's a cord of wood?

Last Christmas we lit a Duraflame in the fireplace for atmoshere. A few minutes later, the A/C kicked on.
