Right now, It is a very brisk Sunday afternoon. I am watching the Colts lay down and let the Rams run all over them, so a bit of cheer added to a sippin' hot beverage is in order...

Two large shots of Peppermint Schnapps added to a tall mug of Hot Chocolate will settle me down to watch the final moments of this disaster.

Lately I've gotten into Bulleit Bourbon and George Dickel Rye, usually neat but occasionally as a Manhattan. I've also found that the rye pairs nicely with, of all things, Pepsi Max ...

I usually stick to beer and wine but I do love a good Bloody Mary. Vodka and tonic with lime in the summer is refreshing.

Dry CC Manhattan garnished with a pickled mushroom.
Second choice, a good rye on the rocks.
Third, bourbon, rocks, water back.

I love a good Bloody Mary, but the juice has to be special! Do you have a killer recipe for the BM mix Lisa?

I'm not normally a fan of Bloody Marys, but the one at Magnolia Grill in New Orleans is killer. My usual (since Celiac disease outlawed beer) is Old Charter on ice.

My all-time favorite Bloody Mary was in Decatur, Indiana,  at My Father's Place.
They use aquavit for the base liquor.  Try it sometime.  Also, the steaks there are memorable.  It's a fine example of a small town steak house.

I use Heinz or Campbell's tomato juice, horseradish, Tabasco, L&P, celery salt and fresh squeezed lime.  To make it extra spicy use Absolut Peppar vodka.  But the best mix is made by the bartender at Brady's Run Grille in New Brighton, PA.  She will NOT give out that recipe!

The latest around here is to use Clamato juice.and she who drinks it doesn't like Horseradish!. I stick to a screwdriver or a Mimosa.....or my own...........champagne, Cointreau (Triple sec when I'm cheap), OS Cranberry Cocktail.with maybe a few frozen cranberries for garnish

nowadays ... Guinness stout draught (not the Double Stout) ... or Murphys Irish stout.  Both are tasty, low alcohol and (so I tell myself)  a bit of a health drink of sorts when it comes to nutrition.  I've adopted a pattern for the past year or so of really watching what I eat.
Only drinking basically Guinness makes it so much easier to decide whether to accept when I get the offer to have a drink, I hardly have to think about it.
Otherwise my tastes in drinks is far ranging indeed.

When I was able to drink, Vox Vodka over with a splash of lemonade and a twist. I called it a "see through"
Macallan 18 with an ice cube.
Bass Ale in a frozen pint glass.
I miss beer the most.
