My first and only Easter basket that I probably got when I was 3-4 years old and was used every year until I was in my teens.

This will be fun later when I have more time to go around taking pictures! My grandparents traveled the world and brought us stuff from every country, and I still have most of it.

To be fair, I won't post pics of things that aren't technically mine, although I use and see them on a daily basis. But you'll have that when you move back in with your mother as an adult, and she has changed virtually nothing from the way the house was when it was built.

I'm hoping this can be a fun thread.  I've been trying to think of topics that will draw some of the lurkers in.

I have my letter jacket hanging in the closet and my letters are in the cedar chest.
I still have a teddy bear that I got the day after I was born.  His poor arms have been sewn back on too many times to count.

Most of my Fisher Price Little People and playsets.
All of my hotwheels and matchbox cars
My tonka trucks (they are all beat to heck though)

From the living room (all of these will be mine someday, I just haven't moved them out yet):

The cast iron trivets that used to hang on the wall in our dining room:

Our piece of furniture stereo, complete with turntable, AM/FM tuner, and 8-track player. Which still works:

Not the best picture, but the couch is in the way. The piano my mother got when she was eight:

A painting my grandfather left unfinished when he died:

Some 50 years ago high schools at least in Indiana had a tradition of Senior Cords being worn at sporting events and other high school informal socials. They were also the equivalent of the casual Fridays in being worn in school. I had a lucrative career hand painting cords (manila corduroy trousers and skirts) custom ordered all four years of my high school days for seniors. I still have mine. My goal is to be able to actually wear them again for my 50th high school reunion next year.

I love all of these.  I have a Chinese Checkers board that my mother got when she was eight.  I'll have to take a picture of it.

A monogrammed drop letter pendant my parents gave me for my 16th birthday.  Two, heavy cable-knit wool pullover sweaters my mother knitted for me in high school.  Even when I could fit into them it rarely ever got cold enough to wear them.

I still have all my Boy Scout Merit Badges and awards, metals, patches, neckerchiefs and some Memorabilia from the 1953 Boy Scout Jamboree in Irvine Ranch CA. There was nothing there in 1953 except open fields and cattle! Bob Hope was the entertainment headliner.
I also have my blue and white felt Beanie from my H.S. Class of 1958!

I almost had you on Irvine Ranch until you described it.

You would not believe it today.

I have my Robert Louis Stevenson's Child's Garden of Versus that my mother used to read to me from.

When my oldest niece was born I bought her a brand new copy.  Her mother, my EX sister-in-law threw it out.

I have my report cards, my class ring, a trio of little elves playing instruments, my charm bracelet and a few charms, an old football my grandmother etched 1951 into, a set of child's china, my letter jacket and wool blanket.  Until recently, I had my birthstone ring I got when I was 12... I gave it to my daughter.

It's interesting reading what was important enough for people to save.

Other than some photos, the one and only thing I still have from my youth is a small white stuffed monkey named Jocko.

In 1980, I was very sick and took him to the hospital with me.  My friend found a brown Jocko and gave him to me to keep Jocko #1 company.

In about 1987, I lost him and was really sad.  We finally found him squished between two sofa cushions.  For Christmas that year, my husband gave me an old bell jar with two comfy little chairs and a table with a bowl of bananas for the Jockos and designated it as their retirement home.

I made a needlepoint covering for the base and since then, they have basked in the sunshine on Jocko Beach on top of a bedroom dresser.

I drew a lot of cars when I was a kid. Before I decided on a career in architecture I thought I was going to be an automobile designer or race car builder. This one my mom saved and I inherited it.

Davydd, I remember my cousin having those about 64. They had gone out by the time I graduated in 73. I always thought they were pretty cool. Most of the stuff that was on them would get a student booted today. Not PC and all.

Oh I still have a stuffed bear and a tiger. And still have my class ring.

My brother and sister graduated in '65 and they weren't allowed to have senior cords. My sister claims I was the cause. My Chip ' n Dale fondling the acorns was mild compared to what some other guys wanted. I may have gone a bit too far with the Carling Black Label Beer. The most popular request was Archie comics' Veronica or Betty in a bikini with the hips at the knee joint. I also painted custom sweatshirts with some wild stuff and pinstriped cars for my high school money. In another era I could have been a tattoo artist. Wait! I did do tattoos in junior high. More like the jail house variety. I went to a rather tough inner city school.

    Honda Fit
    Ford Focus (older model 2000 - ??)
    Chevrolet Aveo

    They stole your design!!!!

I have a lot of family treasures, but the one that is still used frequently is my grandfather's child sized rocking chair.  My grandfather (Alonzo)was born in 1887 & the rocking chair was made by his father(Spencer).  One of my first memories is sitting in this chair.  All of my children have used it & now all the grandchildren.  They are always sad when they get to big to rock in it.
