    Hi bigk73,

Welcome to the RF forum. Lots of good info on the site using the search function. I would also suggest listing the equipment you will be running off the generator for more accurate answers to your post.

    Good luck.

I have a question out there about an 8000 running watts generator that nobody has replied to yet. I have a 7x18 trailer with a commercial fridge and freezer, sandwich prep unit, hot water heater, exhaust fan, water pump, lights and a 13,500 btu air conditioner. I figure I am going to be running around 30 amps with it full out with the listed equipment not to mention any additional equipment. I have been told and have been reading that you need to have a generator that is at least 10% larger than your running wattage. I was looking at the Honda EU6500 (5500 running watts) but it only puts out about 23 amps so it wouldn't get the job done. My 13,500 btu air conditioner pulls about 15 amps out of the 30 so if you don't have ac your power requirements will be a lot less. I was able to listen to the honda eu6500 where a guy was set up selling bbq on the corner this past weekend and those suckers are quiet. They only run at 60db at full load. I would think that this would also be important to you. I'm doing some research to buy one so I'll let you know what I find out and please do the same if you would. thanks

Not pushing for Honda but this link has a chart that might help. Start-up load for equipment varies and that is what you watch for. http://www.hondapowerequipment.com/Products/Generators/content.aspx?asset=gg_wattage§ion=P2GG

I had all the equipment that you listed. I had a 3,500 Gen. That wasn't enough. So I used my stuff selectively until power went back on. I had a Propane powered grill. I Plugged in the Ref and 2 Freezers only. My water table was propane powered. So the answer to your question is Use propane and electricty (Gen) both to run your concession. CBB in PA
