Breaking stylistic format - Picked up the new Alice in Chains. (Black gives way to Blue) Their first release since the OD of their lead singer back in '03 or so. Very much that Seattle grunge sound of the 90's.

I went to the The Cult at 7th Ave in the cities a few weeks back. A band called The Living Things opened up or them....wow. I've since purchased 3 or their cds - fantastic stuff if you like straight hard rock that is politically motivated.

mar52 Thanks, WJ... Off to report myself! Marlene, No need to report yourself. I agree with you - this is no place for this type of language, whether in German or English, and I have seen some pretty bad language on other posts by M_G. I don't think the language difference is a valid argument for the material in the postings - bad or suggestive words are still objectionable no matter what language they are in.

Not that I have purchased their music..but I was searching YouTube for Little Feat vids and found a cut of the Bondesson Sisters playing with some big band playing Little Feat's Sailin' Shoes. It was poorly edtied, but I was intrigued by the slide banjo playing and searched them out to find this video...These women are great...Swedish country punk...I love it!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uycBrIEMqTg

You'll want to check out the Tony Joe White song "Even Trolls Love Rock n Roll". Excellent song, but not sure this looks like the troll that's in the song.

I'm seeing Todd Rundgren next week, performing "A Wizard, A True Star" live, so I'm re-familiarizing myself with that. Scissor Sisters, I'm a big fan and listening to some "interestingly obtained" material from their yet to be released new CD And for some reason, I have developed a taste for Michael Buble lately.

Oh concert alert for anyone in the LA area or anyone willing to travel there. James Taylor and Carole King at the Hollywood Bowl next year. Tix on sale now. Other dates to be announced. So far that's the only one on sale or scheduled for N. America.

I just bought the new Geoff Muldaur and the Texas Sheiks album. Whew! He's not put out an album in quite some time but this is just as good as his previous albums. BTW, his ex-wife's album, Maria, ( I can't recall the name of it) but it's also a wonderful pieceof music. Both are solid performers.

Dearfolk, Well, I haven't acquired it (but I might as well have, the way it keeps earworming me!), but I'm listening to Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana movin' her head like "yeah" and shakin' her hips like "yeah" while the butterflies fly away. -- She ran 'em off, that's why. Achybreakily, Ort. Carlton in The Flatwoods of Athens, Georgia. P. S. My house is on a wooded hillock. Does that count, Basie?

Sundancer7 I was in the Christmas parade in Knoxville with the Miata club. I have the bose system in my Miata which was highly decorated and had 750 lights. I had my CD in with the Trans Siberian Orchestra and I play "Wizards in Winter" over and over. It was loud and went over well. The car looked great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkAhmH40kiM Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN Very cool Sounds like a fun time.
