What to do with Garbanzo Beans?

I recently bought a 29 ounce can of Garbanzo Beans. Don't ask me why because I'm the only one that eats them. Now what do I do? I can give them to a Food Bank, throw them away , OR ask my friends on RF for recipes so I can make them and give most of it to Friends & Neighbors. So, who would like to step up to the plate?

They are. You know them as garbanzos, I know them as chickpeas. But they are exactly the same. That's why I posted the recipe. In the wrong thread, but with the right ingredients.

Saute 1/2 onion, 2 cloves garlic then add chick peas, 1 can diced tomatoes and a few teaspoons of curry powder.

yes as another poster said hummus is a wonderful snack or sandwich filling...there are plenty of recipes on the web(all you will need really is some tahini , garlic ,lemon and a food processor) I like to sometimes add parm cheese to it - also have tried avacado hummus which only invovles adding avacado and have tried making it with white beans as well..- I luv hummus!!!

I make a really good vegetarian chili/chili bean soup with dried pintos and great northern beans. This past batch I included a half pound of garbanzos, just to get rid of them... Mistake! Put 'em in a bean soup if you like 'em but not in a chili style soup. JMHO, YMMV.

I cook by instinct and the seat of my pants so i can't give you measurements but I love garbanzos-chick peas in just about any setting but my favorite is Tomato-Spinach-Garbanzos

I drain two 16 oz cans of garbanzos, preferably no salt added style.

I prepare a thick tomato sauce, I like using stewed tomatoes to start off with-again preferring no salt added, add some no salt added tomato sauce, then season using any or all of your favorite spices/condiments, basil, saffron, fresh garlic. chopped fine onions, whatever in any combination. I like adding some olive oil too.

Once the sauce has simmerred I add the garbanzos and after about 10 minutes I add fresh spinach and cook for about 5 minutes and voila, ready to eat. Your option of adding grated parmesan or not at serving. Once in a while I'll serve it over rice or thin pasta

My Italian grandmother use to eat them as a snack. She called them "chi-ch beans". I think she also ate them raw out of the shell.
She also marinated them whole in olive oil, lots of garlic and some parsley or some red pepper flakes for a sort of salad.
