What were those "pecan" places?? Fri, 08/31/07 11:14 AM (permalink)
When I was a kid and we drove to Florida, I remember signs for a chain that advertized Pecan rolls and other Pecan products. Anyone remember what they were?

We loaded up on Pecan Rolls and GOO-GOO Clusters last week as we returned north thru Alabama. Several Stuckey's still going strong on I-65.

When I was very young, one of the treats was that every year, dad and mom would take my brother and myself to the beach in Florida. We would stop on the way down and on the way back at Stuckey's. At that time, they were very clean, well stocked and of course the pecan log. I enjoyed that stop very very much.

In addition, my parents would always stop at the places that advertised fresh squeezed orange juice and coconut milk which was some kind of sweet concoctin. I probably would not like it now but then I thought it was very good.

Memories are good for a life time.

There's the Pecan Farms (Adcock) I saw when we drove down I-75 towards Florida in South Georgia.
